These are my comps for you... 23k retail .. I really liked this this means he is getting them sub 20k for sure.
You should be able to get 18-20k PP IMO. Which brings carmax down into the mid teens at best

I think I may attempt PP. I shall take it by local and Carmax first. I'll have to wait until next weekend to put the exhaust back to stock and address the dang CEL.

I am sort of pissed because I think I would have certainly considered your car at this pricing... if it had better lights+stereo it would have been a 100% done from my end. fking hindsight.

Carvana is super low ballers. I think they're hedging for a terrible condition car, plus the "convenience" of them picking it up from your house.
IIRC, they offered $11k for our Volt.

bes pdice seriously, one of the guys in my car group who works at a dealership, his coworker accidentally listed a 2016 Civic for $2,000 when he actually meant $22,000, endless indians showed up like it's an auction
Nephew of a a few first gen immigrant on DFD, resident turk, and ex nazi egg lover now driving a middle class mom mobile.
Yeah nice to know the low bar is almost $16K. I still think it's worth $20k
It is a very nice car... for someone else.
Ehhhh... t go 335 to M3 to 328... naaahhhh. The Mini is way better and wasn't a ton more.

It was a fair amount more once I factor everything in. (Taxes etc) we would have worked something out where my exposure would have been far lower. I think my final OTD will be around 26k

It's only "worth" what someone is willing to pay. Right now, it's almost $16k.

PP is fine BUT give yourself at least 4 months. It will take that long for a buyer who wants the car and doesn't want to fuck you for it shows up.

Four months is fine, I really am in no rush to have it gone. My only concern is not really wanting to drop $17K today and then wait four months, but I guess it doesn't really matter. My savings account pays less than the loan costs anyway.

I gave up on both the GTI and Mercedes after 2-3 months, only to get a call from willing buyer who was CRUSHED that I still did not have my enthusiast owned vehicle a week or two later. Give it time.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:43 pmNah, I'll check that out, thanks.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:31 pm

That is sort of my thought, while rare, the buyer for a manual Estoril three series does exist.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:46 pmI gave up on both the GTI and Mercedes after 2-3 months, only to get a call from willing buyer who was CRUSHED that I still did not have my enthusiast owned vehicle a week or two later. You only need one Ultimate Depreciation Machine. I wish I had sprung for the bloo brakes but that meant adjustable dampers too....$2600 or some such. I also would have gotten the "Sound and Power" for myself but the exhaust would have annoyed ze woman. I got my car almost as cheap as I could with the B58, and it was still $60K OTD. Worst thing we've spent money on in years.
These are great cars at $20-25K. $30-35K maybe with the six cylinder. New prices are ridiculous for sure, especially considering depreciation. As long as you don't it doesn't really matter, but man... I love thinking about how owner one of my car spent $1.30 per mile on depreciation, at least.

My 2016 M3 cost me 45 cents a mile in "depreciation". The cheapest one is the crown vic for me, 2.2 cents per mile.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:16 pm These are great cars at $20-25K. $30-35K maybe with the six cylinder. This appears to be shaping up to around $0.40-$0.45, but we'll see the final numbers. C5 is a whopping $0.17/mile in depreciation for me, and getting "cheaper" by the day.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 5:25 pmMy 2016 M3 cost me 45 cents a mile in "depreciation". Maintenance really adds up. My crown vic is at $9800, the purchase price of the car was $7700. Things really add up over time/miles. in particular TIRES. And a set lasts 60k+ miles on that thing.
