This is where the battery upgrade came in. Little man flipped the rear dome light on in the airport parking garage, didn't notice it during day light and wasn't around the truck during night. Ran the battery down and it was a couple days before we were leaving for a road trip so I decided to upgrade rather than charge it and hope.

Awesome thread, Dbest. That is a badass truck with well thought out upgrades. I did King springs and some other suspension bits on my Legacy after moving to Colorado to deal with the mountain/dirt roads; the extra piece of mind is totally worth it.
Maybe we can get a two person DFD Boulder meet up one of these days.

I’m down, I’m in Florida right now for work but I’d be up for it when I’m home. Since you know the area I actually live in Erie, where are you at?

Yeah I bought it broken, 70K miles later O still talk about fixing it lol. I want to fix it but the painted mirror cap is fine, the glass is fine, the heating element im the glass is fine, the turn signal is fine, the puddle light is fine, it’s just the underside of the plastic housing. I took the glass out and put some gorilla tape on the crack so it doesn’t get worse. Maybe someday when they can actually make it to junk yards without being bought whole and fixed up I’ll grab parts for it... but even then that sounds like a lot of work lol

I get it, that totallybused to be me. Pristine condition and always cleaned and waxed. Buying this thing it had rock chips, soem scrapes on the front bumper, some rear bumper damage, all of the “chrome” looks like it has permanent water marks from the mag-chloride in the winter and not getting washed enough, mechanically perfect and over maintained, but with lots of small cosmetic flaws. It made for a no fucks given kinda attitude from day one and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so much less work and worrying. Nodays im doing good if I actually use soap to wash it, usually I just bust out the power washer and just blast the crap off it and call it good.razr390 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 10:41 amThat’s a from [user not found]. Truth be told, it’s a daily driven car exposed to the elements. It can only be SO CLEAN on a day to day basis. My GTI is the same way. I don’t have a garage to park it in, I drive it EVERY day, and I wash it as often as I can to keep it clean but I don’t over it.Dbest wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:32 pmI get it, that totallybused to be me. Littleman straight up LOVES the trailer. Sometimes we'll hook it up for no real reason but because he will ask to "hook on trailer"

Next was our road trip in the 4Runner back to the Midwest. We left early evening and drove through the night. It was pretty much 1000 miles on the dot each way. We went to my best friend's house, he has a place in Wisconsin on 100+ acres of land and his own little farm, plus the family lake house is like a 15 miles away. We screwed around at the farm, at the lake, took a trip to Devils Lake to hike. It was a good trip. From there we went do to Chicago to visit family before doing another overnight drive back to Chicago.
This trip was almost exactly a year ago.
