Oh yeah, he's been great as long as all goes to plan. All of the actual salespeople I worked with we're good, gave some good surveys to the guys I test drove stuff with despite ending up with something else.

I picked it up from the dillershit last Thursday, and it has been snowy and cold since so I haven’t really even driven it until today.max225 wrote:It better be, at that price point. H&R springs will be delivered today according to fedex
Waiting for United Motorsport to have a tune, will probably do a little testing for them also if need be.
Taking it slow on this one, as it seems the build up to each part is what is most exciting, versus just slamming it together and being “done”.

Managed to put about 300 miles on the RS before the snow came. Really love this car, even stock. This is a first for me.
Been rippin the TT in the snow. The UM haldex tune has transformed the way the car responds to slip. Reminds me a lot of the dynamics my b8 S4 had.

Admittedly i tuned my tdi and enjoyed the bump, but haven't had any desire to siphon an extra 100 hp through my gorf's powertrain and possibly blow shit up out of warranty. I'm such a ❄
It would be cool as shit to take one that's had a tune out for a spin

Below is my semi-annual pump n dump:
I’ve put about 4500 miles on the RS3 now, only 500 of them stock. It’s a sickness I think.
H&R springs ride surprisingly nice with the mag ride shocks, very happy with the drop as well.
I ran a couple autoX events while the car was stock (minus lowering) and while it was very capable and a lot of fun, these pirellis are so junky. They’re 100% fine for daily use. Total grease when trying to send it around corners.
Trying to make the car feel a little tighter I went ahead and installed 034 rear subframe inserts. Difficulty 1/10, result 6/10. The back now feels like it indeed wants to come through the corner with the rest of the car. I still maintain that a stiffer rear sway will be what this car truly needs.
I then installed the European OEM catless mid pipes. They’re a nice improvement over stock, but not enough for me. After ~700 miles I went to a full catless downpipe. (Side note: if any one wants or needs the OE catless mids let me know, they’re just sitting in my garage accumulating dust.)
The full downpipe is fantastic when paired with the stock catback. Quiet in comfort mode when the valves are closed, and a raucous when they’re completely open in dynamic.
Next up was a gigantic intercooler from STM. It uses the same Garrett core as the Iroz 1,000hp unit, but costs ~half as much since they don’t use billet end tanks. Fitment is great, performance is far more consistent now, especially with the heat and humidity we have had so far this summer. Also a big thing for me was not needing to modify the crash bar (for insurance purposes as well as some safety concerns) and this unit fits nicely without any modification. 5/7 would recommend.
Most recently I decided to pick up some 18” Neuspeed ramzz and mount up some RE71r meats. This transformed the car when driving like an asshole (a daily occurrence for me). I love neuspeeds because they’re lightweight, cheap, and they make the perfect fitments for MQB cars.
I have also been working with United Motorsport testing their unreleased software suite. The car is tremendously fast, even on ‘just’ 93 octane.
Ok, that’s it for this episode, see y’all in 6 months. Maybe.

I had big turbo stock engine S3 until January 2018, had Iroz built ims710 A3 until October 2018, purchased RS3 first week of November 2018.dubshow wrote:wait. I missed you getting rid of the crazy built s3?
when did you get the rs3? Thats a fantastic car.
RS3 is easily my favorite car I’ve owned (second to my 911, but that almost doesn’t count because it isn’t a fair fight)

It’s a helluva engine. I have considered other 07k swaps lately, that’s how much I like it.[user not found] wrote:I want an RS3 for the engine alone.
