engine should be good for anywhere between 60-80 hp. Lots of factors to consider, and we have to get it running correctly to even attempt to gauge this.

I know its not alot but it's also has a min weight of 1k WITH the driver, so i imagine the car itself is under 1k.
Sounds about right. I estimated mine made around 80 hp. Do you know what year the engine is?

Its an AE block so I think 1971 with a 1976 or 77 head from a bus. The later head was supposedly used for better cooling.

The dyno testing. Fuck off with your insults you airboat scum.
oh. I see there. Yeah, pointless to dyno unless free. I thought you were running motor cost against cost of car.
No the car makes complete sense for someone who wants to race. I think it is far better than the POS miatas that were considered. 5/7

Cool. So, dual port heads then, yes? Let's you run a bigger carb. Do you know what size carb you have?

the were 54hp from the factory in current SAE hp specs. We have no method of telling what this one makes as its had custom work done. It has a later model more efficient head (1977 from a bus), I found since the spark plugs are the smaller diameter. So we really have no way to know unless it gets dyno'ed. And that aint in the budget.
if we know the weight we can do a 1 gear pull with gps and get back to hp reasonably easy

Yea, but I personally am not interested in throwing time and money at setting up another carb unless its necessary. This one seems to be cleaning up nice, and it seems like it was decent before so its a better place to start than from scratch.

Just pointing out that a bigger one is doable, if you decide you want to explore that option.
