Car is back together with ECU reinstalled. Took me about 30 minutes total. Much easier going back together after you know how it pulls apart.
Accessport is updating now on the PC, then we flash.

Okay, only took it for a short blast around my neighborhood. Felt great up to 120.
J/K.. I went out by a farm here and got it up to about 90. The pull now feels very similar to the Z06, just w/o the constant tire shredding torque.
The weather kinda sucks, so I didn't want to be out too long, but so far it is a very noticable difference and this is just the 91 octane stage 1 tune. I want to log a bit before moving to the higher octane tune, or getting high flow cats and flashing stage 2.

$146K car, 11 months old...Powertrain Warranty: INVALIDATED.
Still feels sketchy to say/think that.

Meh. It's significantly less risky than a normal person tuning theirCorvetteWaxer wrote:$146K car, 11 months old...Powertrain Warranty: INVALIDATED.

Their car costs like 4x what yours costs as a fraction of their income. If you were tuning a GT2RS or something then you'd be playing the game.

here I am worried about the stripes on the mini not being covered under warranty.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:36 pm $146K car, 11 months old...Powertrain Warranty: INVALIDATED.

Not necessarily. You’re only boned if they can link the tune to the cause of failure... in just about 3 years with Porsche I didn’t see a 991.2 come in with any tune related issues, and we probably tuned 50-60 of them?CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:36 pm $146K car, 11 months old...Powertrain Warranty: INVALIDATED.

Factory tune crackles in Sport mode, so does this one. Didn't check if they added it to Sport+ mode.

Only 4k miles on it. I drove the shit out of the ZR2 last year. I drove the 911 more for fun around here and not on my commute from work.
Also, not going to work more than 3 times since August helped.

Nice to hear, just won't hold my breath. Would be a bonus if my dealer is cool like that.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 5:31 pmNot necessarily. Also, you're right about the change in the car. My quick 10 minute drive avoiding the rain was all smiles.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 5:31 pmNot necessarily. It’s insane what it does. The biggest difference is on a tuned S, but even on a GTS it’s a hell of a jump. You’ve basically got something between a 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S now, especially on a 4WD car.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 6:08 pmAlso, you're right about the change in the car. Sport Plus won’t crackle as much as Sport... keep it in sport mode - it pulls harder and shifts smoother and makes the most noise.
Once the car adapts to the new tune, it’ll pick up a bit more responsiveness and smoothen out the power delivery a bit more.

Yeah, I pretty much exclusively stay in Sport mode since Sport+ keeps the transmission in the gears a bit too long for the street. Rolling down my street at 4k RPM in 1st gear isn't going to make me popular with the neighbors.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 6:51 pmIt’s insane what it does. I generally leave PDCC off since SPASM is firm enough for the streets, with PDCC on it gets pretty violent on less than perfect roads. I am wondering how much softer PASM is, if at all though, just as a comparison. Guys on the internet claim SPASM is too firm, but I don't see it. Maybe they should have bought a Cadillac or Tahoe?
