I can tell you how to gut out the tail lights and trunk harness on an R but wouldn't touch that car even if I did own it.

Okay, I let my inner Hulk take over and decided to say F-it!
Pulled hard as hell on the spoiler assembly and got it out!
This is what is/was stopping the taillight from coming out. The adjuster for the light was about completely threaded out and hanging up on the rail. This is a reverse thread.
Now I see you!
Now I don't
Parts laid out:
It really isn't that bad at all, but not knowing how some things come together and getting incorrect info messes with you. Doesn't help that Porsche doesn't produce service manuals either...

Classic example.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:38 pmLike when I went to install AEV rear mudflaps on the JKU.
6 bolts. Didn't need to jack it up, remove tires, anything. Should've literally taken me 5 minutes.
One sheared right the hell off when I was threading it in with the smallest ratchet handle I have. Ended up having to spend an hour or two jacking it up, removing a wheel, drilling it out, and re-tapping it.

Replacing HID bulb in Q5, 5 min in theory 45 min in practice, as the entire fking light fixture has to come out as well as the airbox.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 6:12 pmClassic example.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:38 pm

It feels like it is still locked in at the top right, where the bolts secure it to the car, and I can hear a "clunk" like it is hitting something when I try to remove it.
All the bolts are out, and I tried re-installing the bolts for the bracket thinking it might be a clearance thing. Also tried using a plastic trim tool to see it it was a clearance thing to the black subframe piece.... no dice. Really starting to feel like it needs a hammer and real pry bar at this point.
The passenger side came out easy peasy.
its probably totaled.

Got the homelink mirror for the R yesterday, installing it in a couple minutes.
Also ordered a JB4 for the R and the plug in harness so you don't have to posi-tap the OEM harness. Should be here by Monday or so. Time to investigate clutches.
Cobb received my ECU this morning according to UPS. Should get a call soon, I'm going to ask for overnight back to me instead of 2 day. Hopefully will have the 911 running again this weekend.

So you have to take out the ECU and send it to COBB then wait for them to send it back? Is that the procedure?CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 12:16 pm Got the homelink mirror for the R yesterday, installing it in a couple minutes.

Initially, yes. They have to do some kind of bench flash to unlock the ECU to accept the AP OBD2 tuning.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 12:18 pmSo you have to take out the ECU and send it to COBB then wait for them to send it back? So after asking like 6 times to pay to upgrade the shipping to overnight, I got a label for 2 day air in my email..
So, I called and the dude I've been working with upgraded me for $free. New label arrived while I was on the phone with him.
The Cobb guys have been pretty cool once we figured out their docs were wrong and I wrote some revisions for them.
