I've only driven it 5 miles so far, but initial impressions:
Ride is a bit more controlled than the JLs I've been used to. Hard to describe, it's still a bit bouncy like a Jeep, but it feels less jittery...that includes the steering. The steering doesn't necessarily feel any better, but it seems to want to drive straighter. I think that's the wheelbase.
I spent a few miles on the highway and wind noise is definitely more noticable than either of the JL Saharas I've been in the last few weeks. Could be the fact that it's a truck. Could be that it's a Rubicon. Could just be the magic "I got a bad one". We'll see more on that.
The 7" screen feels tiny after being used to the 8.4" screen, but it's by no means unusable. I think that'll be a relatively easy adjustment for me. To an extent, it makes it feel a bit more "Jeepy" to me.
The base audio is fantastic. It sounds better than the premium Blose did in my ZR2. Though, it's certainly not as good as the premium audio in the JL. Will I miss it? We'll see.
Overall, I'm over the moon. The Whorange color is so epic in person on the Rubicon, especially with the black roof and fenders. The guy at the center I picked it up from said it's the first Orange Rubicon JT they've had and everyone was ooging it when it came in on Monday. I'm really excited to start putting miles on it.

Not the headliner...the JL I drove for the last week didn't have the headliner and also didn't have wind noise.
BUT
I think you go tit. Both have active noise cancelling (ANC) with the premium audio where mine doesn't. That could be making the difference.

I think turning the volume knob to the right activates this feature on all models

That's what I did to "test" the audio system. Worked great.

Probably.
The bass isn't as low and clear as the premium audio. And the mids are a bit muddy. Highs are nice. Overall I find it very acceptable.

This is interesting... VERY interesting. I have yet to drive one with that... We have now have two very important data points from you. With and without stereo, anyone else did this.

Yea, they actually require you to look it over before you sign for it. Probably so they don't have to schedule bringing it back to fix shit.
Truck had 15 miles on it when I got in it, and looked perfect. The build was right, all the trim and everything fits nice, no paint issues that I can see. The spray in bedliner that was forced looks really nice. Appears to be a bit thicker than what GM applied to the Colorado. We'll see how durable it is.
No rattles/buzzes/noises when driving. Seems really well screwed together.
Power is adequate, but it definitely feels a bit slower at WOT than the JL does.
The odd thing I have to get used to is the rear window is surprisingly small. So small that you can't really see the bed when driving. Makes backing up a bit weird, the camera is really helpful.

I know for a fact that the ANC in the premium audio was tuned to reduce wind and road noise. That's the only real difference I can tell between my wife's JL, the JL I drove for the last week and my JT

V8 JL or Gladiator would get me off the fence and in the game. Makes $50K plus seem fine to me. with all of the "Pentastar is more than adequate" stuff.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 9:08 amMaaaaaybe.

Old man shit. C5-C6 nerve pinch. Exacerbated by toughing it out for 3 days when I should have gone immediately to doc, then labor day weekend, then, then. If I had some steroids and opiods on hand and knew what was going on I could have nipped it in the bud. I'll be ready next time. Headed to Mayo clinic next weekend to have a Sports doc look at MRI and hopefully tell me how to avoid it in the future. My future vision of health may not include heavy deadlifts, etc. And 10 hour car rides with one stop have ended forever. The road warrior has retired.
