They get better fuel mileage. Probably won't notice much aside from a difference in sound. The V6 sounds pretty good.

No, they're great. I've driven a few, noticeably more torque than the 3.6...decent fuel economy.

The problem is, it's a $2k upcharge over a V6. And the V6 is the durable AF 3.6 Pentastar. Most people buying Jeeps want proved reliability, which the 3.6 offers. The 2.0T is all-new PLUS the $2k upcharge, and it's a really tough sell for people. I'd buy one for the right :dill: but I have a feeling that 3.6's will be easier to sell later too.

All leftover 2018's are weird builds at this point. Lots of 2.0T's, Saharas, missing critical packages, etc. Other than the Whorange Sport S that this dealer also has...no idea why that's sitting. I think I'd rather get a base Rubicon :doe: I really want 4.10's and lockers.

:word:

Dat Mojito JLUR sounds pretty damn spot on for you.
I took a random glance at '18 leftovers and was wondering about that 2.0T that I saw a couple of them having.

Don't worry I can wait as long as you need, and I have no idea about insurance. That could be a deal breaker and crush me financially. I used to be NFG about laws...

Insurance isn't any worse on the Volt than any other vehicle I've had. It's not as much as my :truk: s have been for some reason.

I don't have full coverage on my truck for is only worth like 5k, but with all the safety features of the volt and the probability that the volt would do less damage to another vehicle might make it affordable to insure.

Well, took :tits: to test drive some stuff at the :dillerman: on Saturday. I gave ZERO guidance on what to look at and drive, let her set her own budget, etc. The goal was to drive:

Compass
Grand Cherokee
Ram 1500

:dillerman: had a Compass in the showroom. One LOOK inside (didn't sit in it) was a :nope: for being "too small" and "too cheap".

That was easy.

They also had a Ram Rebel out front that she crawled around looked "badass" but the interior has a bunch of Rebel branding and red accents that "looks like it just fucked its cousin in the 909" (909 is the SoCal desert area code renowned for bro trucks). So the Rebel was out.

:dillerman: brought around a Grand Cherokee Laredo with a V6, sunroof, and loaded features. :tits: was surprisingly :notsure: upon getting in. She said it "felt old and somewhat cheap". Driving it she said it was "way too slow" and didn't "feel very comfy" whatever that means. We get back...and the Pièce De Résistance... :dillerman: brought around a Ram 1500 Laramie with 12" screen and panoramic sunroof.

We didn't even get in it before I could tell that was it. She was smitten with the outside. Inside, it was ridiculous. She raved about the suede/leather combo seats (unique to Laramie of course), and the 12" screen blew her mind. Then opening the panoramic sunroof set her over the top...and she hadn't even driven it yet. She floors it leaving the lot and the 5.7 Hemi ROARS with tire squeal undertones. "THIS is what I should be driving!" she exclaimed. I kept quiet the entire time, but it was clear she was sold.

And TBH, so was I. I was completely 100% blown away by the Ram. The Silverado is an embarrassment by comparison. Not just the quality of the interior which was bordering on German lux car quality, but the ride was incredible. The truck she drove has 22" wheels, and you'd never know it from the drive. It glided over everything with ease, and the rear coil springs REALLY showed their stuff with how compliant and easy it was to ride in. The thing felt like riding in a true luxury vehicle. Absolutely incredible.

So we'll be getting a Ram. Laramie Crew Cab with 12" screen, panoramic sunroof, and sport appearance package (which deletes all chrome and adds the nice leather buckets she loved so much). :dillerman: was quoting us ~$400/mo on a 10k mile lease for 36 mos with $0 down on a truck like that (the one they had with the 22's had too much crap we didn't care about on it, lease price pushing $500). Wife thinks $400 is "a steal" so I'm glad it fits her budget.

That means I'm focusing my efforts on a JL for myself. Maybe even a 2-door because it would be more fun and the Ram will do all our trips for us. :dillerman: was foaming at the mouth about the thought of a 2 vehicle :dill: so if we can find some vehicles in their inventory that works, we might be able to get a little extra on trade for the Volt or something. He even mentioned that I could order my Jeep and work a deal with a truck when the Jeep comes in...but he confirmed that I'd need to order in the next few weeks if I want it by September.

I told him to let us know if any :mindblown: deals pop up in the next month or so...maybe around Labor Day or something.

$400 a month lease deal is epic as well. :doit:

Is your lease also up in sep? Same as me.. I have been looking at leftover Sahara’s with the 3.6, buttttt I have been told drive a 2.0, apparently the torque delivery is far better than the 3.6 which I know is a real issue.... I’m waiting on 10-15k off, if those deals appear by Labor Day I’m getting a sahara ...

It has everything anyone could possibly want in a vehicle. If it were me on my own, I'd go for a Big Horn, but the Laramie comes with suede inserts on the seats where her legs hit the bottom...which apparently is gamechanging because her legs don't stick to the seats when wearing shorts.

That leather is now a 100% must have requirement. I won't dare suggest otherwise.

Yea, she is right. It's funny her take on the GC being old...I didn't say a thing about it to her...it was 100% unprompted from her. The Ram is truly :mindblown:

The 2.0T does have way improved torque delivery...in fact it has more torque than the 3.6 on paper. I really like the 2.0T personally.

Colorado lease is up in September...but wife wants her truck "now". We went to a :dillerman: that's part of a gigantic local group, so we can turn the Colorado in to the Jeep dealer just like it was a Chevy dealer, which is killer. :dillerman: was ready to :dill: talking about paying off the rest of our Colorado lease, etc. The Colorado is under miles and since I've paid for it, I'd rather put more miles on it before switching, but :tits: can get antsy.

Shot :dillerman: an e-mail asking what kind of :dill: he could put together on the below two vehicles at the same time. I can't imagine they'll go low on price, but I asked for a high trade number on the Volt...$15k If they hit that, it's game over...we'll do the deal tonight.

You know her points are 100% correct.
Compass is a cheap and small pos compared to a ram. Jg is old as dirt, especially inside.

Love love love that Jeep.

I think this is working out perfectly, the two door JL will be really fun and you will still have a truck around for house shit or whatever. Plus, she will have the gas hog which works for her short commute.

Awesome dude! HOpefully the C5 ad is still going untouched too :lolol:

Detroit wrote: Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:42 am Well, took :tits: to test drive some stuff at the :dillerman: on Saturday.

Infamous consumer stories are always  You've got a good woman but figuring out what floats her boat is really just an any given Sunday situation.
Yea...she's crazy.

The good thing is, once she sets her mind on something, it's done. There's no debating. This is the first time I told her to set her own budget and drive whatever she wants...and she got pretty well set on something fast. I'd usually try to compromise with her...like suggesting she get the cheaper model with the same features...but I know I'll get burned by the fucking suede seats, so I won't even bother.

While I think ramz are gonna ramz what is the :dill: on the wrangler you’re expecting ? That part may make sense to wait on. You have 0 reasons to rush unlike FCA sitting on billions of $ of unsold 2018s

That Jeep is my ideal "fun" config. It's 99% how I'd order it myself. The ONLY thing it's missing is proximity entry, but if the :dill: is right, then done.

C5 ad is going unnoticed...which is good.

I don't expect any more off the Jeep, but I do expect more on trade to make the 2 vehicle deal happen. If they won't hit my numbers, fine...I'll just keep the Volt for a while longer and decide on the Jeep later. Zero rush there, I'd need incentive to make it happen sooner.

I do wonder if there's going to be another Ram salesathon in September for Labor Day. There were great Ram deals for 4th of July, but since we're leasing it probably won't matter much.

I am considering buying the Ram and leasing the Jeep, but :tits: even admitted that she'll probably want something else in 3 years so what's the point.

As nice as the Ram is, I really don't want to drive it every day. The thing is gargantuan. Sure, I'm comfortable in it, but navigating that barge around my daily traffic is a :nope: She wants to do it, so that's fine...but if I bought it and she gets sick of it, I'm not going to want it either.

Well how strong is the :plac: May want to lease both ... $400 a month is not something you can beat on the :truk: jls have lease deals on sports mostly 269/3k down out here. Loaded 2 door rubis have the worst residuals so I wouldn’t expect anything better than the $400 especially if 0 down

The :plac: is low FOR ME. :tits: is :fullretard: "I want MY truck NOW".

I just want something to hold onto and be done with it. I'm still not motivated at all to make this new deal work, but it's being forced with the lease return and now :tits: is :triggered:

I want a Rubicon for the wheeling we'll do with it...Rubicon 2 and 4 doors have the worst residuals, so I'd expect a pretty crappy lease deal. Probably just buy the thing because I'm not too worried about actual resale (which tends to be higher than published residual values). If ordering something, it would still likely be a marginally optioned Rubicon 4-door which would have the most staying power. I'm a tad concerned that the 2-door could get old at some point due to lack of space.
