well a new PCV valve (the old one did look bad) has made the problem....worse.
I think the intake probably needs to come off one way or another but I'd like to know what's wrong so i can have the right parts. I'll try and borrow a scope too so i can see what my carbons situation is

car is running like actual shit.
I think I may pay someone to do the carbon cleaning and hopefully not be a derp and spot something wrong to fix. if that fixes, great, if not the search will go on

They have an extended warranty from MFG for the intake manifold, if anything see if maybe you can take it to for that and negotiate a cheap carbon cleaning since the manifold is already off.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 9:34 am car is running like actual shit.

That’s what they did with my mk6

I had a wonky idle with my MKV GTI and I didn't know where the hell to start. I had the PCV replacement kit/plate thing so I was sure it wasn't that. I finally decided to drop it off at the dealer and on a whim I stopped at a gas station right near the dealer and popped the hood... Then found a weird square plug where the part that snaps it onto the motor was broken off (broken plastic of course). Plugged it up and it was fine.
I'm sure you've looked at all your connections by now tho.

kind of guessing. I have a bad vacuum leak somewhere, but I'm to a point that I need to remove the intake manifold to continue looking for it. if I can fix it with gaskets, great. if it's more bad like a cracked intake, I'll have to borrow a car from my multiple car owing friendsAcid666 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 11:29 amSo you know what it is or still guessing a little bit?Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 11:25 am ordered parts to do it my own fucking self this Friday. ugh.

Could you get in there with some brake cleaner and spray around to find where it could possibly be? We did this on the Meowta yesterday and found 2 spots that were causing my surging.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 12:17 pmkind of guessing. When I sold the GTI to the guy and his step son, I told him it would throw a code for a vac leak but I could never find it. Ran good so I just let it be. When he came visit me months later it was surging rough and I found 2 plastic vac hoses under the intake area that was just cracked to all hell. Those hard plastic hoses are the first place I look on turbo cars now when I see a weird jerking of intake noises.
I'm sure you've looked out the yang tho.

yep. I sprayed all the water around trying to find the leak. 2 big problems with it... the underside is impossible to spray and 2 the car is constantly adjusting idle and you can't tell if it's you fixing or the car controling it.Acid666 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 1:23 pmCould you get in there with some brake cleaner and spray around to find where it could possibly be? So, good news, the 5 dollar part was super easy to install and and fixed the idling issue. Way easier than any of the alternatives. Seems all is well for now.
Bad news...the CF Cabrino intake is cracked post MAF. Its prob ok for now but needs to be replaced soonish.
