It's baaaaaackkk!!!
First legitimately cool day of fall. As you can see I'm at 29,243 so I'm bringing it in soon for the 30k service.

Gberg's GoRf Thread
Diller had no update regarding the patch last time I was there. I must not be paying them enough.

I'll send the whole service team to Hong Kong.

So this will be the fourth documented time the diller will look at this issue. Fifth in total since I cleared the codes the first time it happened.
Going to try and get the car in soon and open a case with VW looking for a replacement/buyback. Would be nice if I don't have to do the 30k service on this heap.

In seriousness... that really sucks on a brand new car... Hopefully they can get a buy back going, at this point I would likely want to out as well.
Buyback request has been opened with VW and I'm dropping the car off on Monday night for them to review Tuesday. I kinda wanna get this in before I have to spend another $500 on the 30k maintenance.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:15 amGberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:07 am So this will be the fourth documented time the diller will look at this issue. Thoughts on the replacement? Blue 4R TuRD Bro?
Well I said replacement or buyback and she went ahead with the buyback request.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 10:19 amBuyback huh.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 10:12 am

I genuinely have no idea what I'd look for. Toyoter jacked the price up on the 4R TuRD bro and as cool as they are I don't think I'd be able to give up a sporty fun car.
You could buy John's STi. I still kind of want to buy it.

That sucks Gberg. I honestly think that modern MQB VW’s are pretty reliable as a whole, but usually when the problematic ones surface they tend to be lemons and beyond repair. I know 10+ people with MK7 R’s and none have reported issues such as this.

It's interesting and sad that you either get a good VW or you get a turd. Unfortunately Gberg has been dealt turds twice now. The super odd thing is it's a later model MK7 not the first model year or anything.
I kinda like the aspect of an imperfect vehicle. I could possibly be interested depending on how long you end up having it. where I'll fall with car stuff upon being a month or two into the job change. Or GBerg could beat me to buying it which would be
This is on top of electrical gremlins the car already has. Radio module has been replaced already and the automatic function from the driver window switch stops working on occasion.

My mom’s MK6 and now MK7 haven’t had issues whatsoever.

Yep. 4 VW's and 2 straight turds. I guess waiting till all the kinks get worked out doesn't apply to VW.
I'm not holding my breath on the buyback though. I assume they'll tell it's fixable.
