Maybe they have some master plan that us mere mortals will never understand. If the valves are half decent then the problem won't be fixed.... seems weird. I'd do software first, check battery/electrical second, fuel pump/fuel filter next.... someone had too many Erdingers back in the motherland. Stoopid engineers lol
Yeah, I don't think this will fix it but a free carbon clean is a free carbon clean. Maybe they think they're delaying it so the next time the CEL comes back I'll be out of warranty?Tarspin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:59 pmMaybe they have some master plan that us mere mortals will never understand. Little do they know I bought the 6 year b2b warranty.

Hopefully something simple a software update will fix, like opening up margins somewhere.

Same.
When I'm on a highway for an extended length of time I'll do the first half hour in 4th gear to get those revs and temps nice and high. I do wait a good 15 minutes or so for the earl to warm up first doe.

That's odd. Are they giving you pictures of before/after? Full scrape down clean or just injection? Is this the only real repair it's had so far? I know the bent wheels, windshield and alignment stuff but that's not really the car's fault.
If you want a brighter blue port injected tractor with double the wing and half the fuel mileage you know who to call. I'll sell it to you for whatever trade in value is if/when I actually get off my ass to get it appraised.

He did send me a before and after video of the valves and it was a full scrape down/media blasting. And don't forget about the thermostat housing replacement that happened to go along with this repair. The CEL for misfires has already happened 3 times so far. End of December, mid February, and mid March with the TSB software "fix" being applied in February.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 3:16 pmThat's odd. Are they giving you pictures of before/after? I really like the JL's but I can't get over the price.
The is going to open another case with VW and do whatever they say. I got the car back from the carbon clean on March 21st.
There may be some :dill:s to be had but I don't buy the chapman price at all. I think they post all the stuff people never qualify for.
