Conceptually I always get confused by pieces as such on cars with non independent suspensions.

The rear suspension is a twist beam axle setup with a torsion bar connected to the rear wheels. A stiffer bar reduces sway.

right but the rear wheels are already connected via a solid beam, similar to what you'd see on a non IRS rear end.

Would be fun to hoon around. Probably rides worse than my car, lol.
I was in a parking lot and a chick driving one drove by me and I was :jimp: at the sound.

There is still flex, the torsion bar makes the system stiffer. The stock bar is 22mm, the one I ordered is 28mm. It's apparently a pretty noticeable improvement.

The beam still flexes... hence "twist beam" suspension.

According to wiki "no need for anti roll bar" interesting nonetheless.

A torsion bar is slightly different from an anti-roll bar, it reinforces the existing chassis rather than connecting points which wouldn't otherwise be (directly) connected.

"Not needed" also doesn't mean it can't be helpful.

:themoreyouknow:

It is interesting... the crown vic has an "optional" anti roll bar in the back.

The pricing was :ludacris: , and I had to modify the PCV hose/add a 90 degree nipple to get it to fit without the line kinking. :thanksobama:

At least the red is worth like 5hp and +20 scene points. :iono:

What 'scene' is this that you speak of, where driving a Fiat gets you points?

The rear is noticeably more tight after installing the bar, it's a pretty big difference. :notbad:

:iono: I heard it in on the interwebz once. I assume it's for people that like girly cars.
