Quick change of pace... so my dad told me Crown Vic is misfiring.... had some spare time this long weekend and decided to swing by and check it out...
pulled #6 coil and it was flooded in coolant. It seems that the intake manifold has once again cracked
Replacement part is $180 and 5-6 hrs of work... car runs flawlessly after I removed the coolant and replaced the coils.. I just don’t have the time to keep this thing going and places want $1500-2000 to do the job.
what to do about it next

Yes because you’d stick with Ford to ford. Vs fabbing up a whole new world. Either way if you want to do real talk the best thing to do would be swap in a later mustang sohc, or if you wanted to go crazy swap in a marauder 4.6 dohc which fits. The 4.6 dohc was the basis for the 5.0 Coyote.
That said none of that will happen on a car with 405,250 miles. I am just trying to not be and have it end up in a junkyard but this may be it

I figured the price of the Coyote alone would cost more than the LS, trans, and ecu. A Rustang engine would obviously be cheapest though.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 11:34 amYes because you’d stick with Ford to ford. Vs fabbing up a whole new world. but I hear you on not wanting to sink a bunch of time/money in it, other things will continue to break.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 11:34 amYes because you’d stick with Ford to ford. Hmm so this is also a thing, I could keep trucking in an m3, but I wonder if the depreciation will just be completely abysmal in the next 2 years ...

The Dgriff spec bmws are a strong value play... 10k cheaper than a new comp wrx... hmm I really don’t have clear winners in my search yet ... quite frustrating.

You hated the fakesport with such a passion and that was the 6 cylinder car. Why would you go to a 4?

This thing is 24k which is civic sport territory and this is far more car for the money.
It’s also 10k cheaper than a new wrx.... and I am having a tough time with that as well

You’ll lose the same amount of money with either vehicle. Only the BMW might require door lock surgery and an Aryan handcrafted programmed battery out of pocket while the Rex will be covered.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 5:43 pmDon’t get me wrong, i hated a lot of things about that car but mainly because of the price point of 58k.

This is a nice option. They are same price as a new STI. Gotta ask yourself what is more important. The BMW is the better vehicle. The STI would be more fun and special. Depends what you want.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 6:22 pmGet a 340i whose value has been cut in half.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 5:43 pm

That seems to be the question at hand... I can’t really answer it. I appreciate aspects of all vehicles
I like the wrx/sti, can’t do the wing in the sti, the bmw is a great driving car that is neutered on purpose, a few mods would really wake it up...
