S5 two doors have the back seat utility of a Camaro.

You're describing a used base 16+ Audi TT. The base cars can run on 87 and are still pretty quick.max225 wrote:Checked out 13+ Cayman S's which are interesting enough... but 50k... more than 50% of what they were new 5-6 model years later.
So any recommendations from you guys on next vehicle ?
Ideally
<40k Preferably under 30k
20mpg combined or so preferably on regular
somewhat unique and not common vehicle
ok reliability
depreciation of less than 4k a year.

TT is not bad ? how much do these go for ? I may prefer a S4, less low, 4 real seats etc. If priced the same, I don't know if I'd like to go 2 door "sports" car. There is no point for that type of vehicle for me at this time.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 2:09 pmYou're describing a used base 16+ Audi TT. Base cars are about the same as a mk7 R. $30k would get you a really nice one. It's what I would want for up here if I had the cash. The back seat is useless like a 911 but the hatch is really useful for 2 people. I miss our old 2008 model.max225 wrote:TT is not bad ? how much do these go for ? Any reason to get it over a used R? Other than being a squashed egg vs egg.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 2:27 pmBase cars are about the same as a mk7 R. $30k would get you a really nice one. This thing is like what... 32k msrp or 27k actual paid price new... 2 years and 16k miles later it "only" lost 4k

Better handling and badge, a little lower running costs, maybe less depreciation due to rarity.max225 wrote:Any reason to get it over a used R? Rs tend to keep their value quite well, I thought TT's depreciated into oblivion similar to the Z4?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 2:45 pmBetter handling and badge, a little lower running costs, maybe less depreciation due to rarity.max225 wrote:

Isn't it the same chassis/engine/wheel/tire/size/weight?
Quick google reveals :245: s vs :235s: in the golf ? Meh I don't see the point of giving up the utility of the hatch if the price points are similar as seems to be everything else. I don't care for virtual cocks
No way would I buy a TT over a Gorf. That'smax225 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 2:50 pmRs tend to keep their value quite well, I thought TT's depreciated into oblivion similar to the Z4?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 2:45 pm Better handling and badge, a little lower running costs, maybe less depreciation due to rarity.

Different strokes. It's smaller, lighter, and more stylish for about the same price. There are a number of small tweaks to the body/chassis/suspension that add up. Wheelbase is 5" shorter, wheels are an inch wider, weight is like 400 lbs lower, and you won't see many others.

TTs is 3260 lbs
Golf R is 3300lbs
Audi is 165" long and 72" wide
Golf is 168" long and 71" wide
The styling is debatable as both cars are on the uglier side IMO. Mini minivan vs secretary mobile.
the performance should be nearly identical and the practicality of the golf is 2x as good as the audi.

Sorry it's "only" 250 lbs, 31xx vs 3400. Wheelbase is 98 vs 103 inches. Runs on 87 vs 91 like you wanted, is very rare on the road and has a less embarrassing badge.max225 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 4:25 pm400lbs ?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 3:48 pm

If you think they're for fags though, that's all you need to say. Buy what you like.

Where are you getting the 3100 figure ? Are you comparing the 220hp vs 280hp version? TTS + Golf R have the exact same drivetrain + power rating how can one run on regular and the other one cant?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 4:37 pmSorry it's "only" 250 lbs, 31xx vs 3400. I don't really care for badges as we discussed unless they are korean.
