I'd pony up for a garage if there was one in reasonable distance from the house.
Moving is NGH in Philly. If we move we move out of the area.
Sounds like a fantastic idea. So, when's the moving party and will there be pizza and beer?
I’d love to find work in the Carolinas.

Life is too short for a younger guy to not chase their dreams.

I did it and it was great, but now that I'm closer to retirement I just can't wait as I have new dreams. Just a bit longer for me until I leave this stinkhole they call California.

Best way to get to sf. I survived communism with all that white privilege I’ll survive this.

I’m more concerned about my 9x lb woman. But she is on the white person privileged line

What the hell? That's a $10k truck out here. I really should start a business buying vehicles like this out there and driving them back to sell for a profit.
Is now a good time for me to get :triggered: by the use of the word :truk: on an suv ?
Tahoe not a Truck
4 runner not a truck
A :truk: has a useless bed !

:triggered:

On a more serious note ... we could give it a shot ? I source here you sell there we split profit ?
Oh goodie, a semantics debate.

:whocares:

But to me...something that has high ground clearance and a body on frame is a "truck"

JL="truck"
4Runner="truck"

A thing with a bed is a "pickup truck"

A Ridgeline is a "pickup crossover" just like the Baja was.

If I had more time to fly out and drive back, I probably would. This would be tough to do regularly and make any meaningful profit out of it.

I've actually considered a case where I buy an HD truck and enclosed car hauler and drive around the south and west buying interesting good clean vehicles and bring them back here to sell. Unfortunately, that's a significant time commitment. If I had other gigs going to enable it, I'd probably try.

Why would you fly? As I mentioned I'd source... If you trust my pickings... It would cut out that entire layer.
Time commitment is a real issue.

When I shipped my CJ7 from Detroit to LA in 2008, it was $1k. I imagine now, that number is double. $2k for shipping really eats into the margin.

You probably need a hot-shot shipper who can do 2-3 vehicles at a time.

:notbad: I didn't realize that transport costs are so flat. I guess gas is cheaper than it was in 2008, so it makes sense.
