Yeah like fake tan, just the seats. Don't know why they cant' change the door cards and or dash/center console area too. Thos beans tho. That would be the interior I'd go for. The black cloth got dusty brown within 10 minutes of the top being off so what's the point of that.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 1:56 pmYou can get a tan interior in the Wrangler.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 1:49 pm
Keep in mind accelerate reasonably would be like sub 8 seconds to 60
JGC checks all
Wrongler checks most just no cream or butthole ventilation
Rav has shit stereo but maybe good enough for me?
Forester has no balls at all which sucks because I like it a lot otherwise, I don't think I could deal with full turtle all the time
CX5 rides like a dump truck
GX checks all boxes

JGC looks and feels old despite the constant updates. They have done well but it's time to redo it. I don't care much though, solid powertrains and features. $20k gets you a nice ass one used which seems reasonable. There used to be so many options of an SUV with some off road credentials and ground clearance, and a powerful V6 motor.... not anymore they're all tiny dick engines that have no balls on car chassis with plastic cladding.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 1:52 pmShockingly the JGC is worth quite a bit in the used market, 2014+ models are the ones to get IMO, they get the digit dash and a slew of other minor updates. They should be around 20-22k with low miles... but they are 27-30k. Historically JGC has been super highly depreciating, which is what made it so attractive to me.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 1:49 pm

I bought my 2003 JGC in 2005 for 18k, it had a 42k sticker IIRC. You can't do the same anymore so it makes more sense to buy new.. but NEW... it is nuts... its 8 years old at this point, and the replacement is around the corner... unless of course you hold forever.

I love the dark saddle brown leather in Gladiators.

JGC seems like it's a top contender for you, and it would be a solid option. I them a lot too, but no useless bed so I didn't get one before.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 2:00 pmJGC looks and feels old despite the constant updates. Spare tire inside the cargo area and tiny vertical opening is either. I wonder if my bike will fit in it. Could always just get a hitch rack and store that in the "trunk" area tho.Apex wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 2:02 pmJGC seems like it's a top contender for you, and it would be a solid option. Oh dang, I didn't know the spare was moved inside. Probably not a killer though, how often do you need the spare? You'd have to pop the front wheel off, but I can't imagine your bike not fitting with the back seat(s) folded down.

Its not that I need the spare constantly, its that it takes up a lot of vertical room at the hatch. A Forester has a more usable rear area which is crazy because its smaller than the JGC. Part of the reason they need to redo this vehicle is space utilization is pretty bad. Not Camaro bad but use current design techniques to thin the A pillars, provide more interior space, make the hatch a little more vertical instead of slantyboi, etc.

Nah...their alliance is pushing 20 years old.
About a decade ago, Ghosn was pushing for world domination of Nissan. Massive market share gains and volume. I heard that the edict was to do that at all costs...which would include vehicle development. It's likely that they "invested" profits into more incentives to drive more sales while ignoring product.

I wish it was better there, I'd love to move to TN.
