I can’t wait to move to San Antonio. After settling down I’m running summers year long. (When I need new tars)fledonfoot wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:10 pmI'm tempted to go stage 1, but rack up 30k/yr.
Agree fully on the shifter:
I did the Euro S3 short shift arm, a full set of shifter cable and bracket bushings, an 034 dogbone insert and the ECS bleeder block delete. Takes away all of the clutch pedal vagueness and gives it actual feel. I ended up pulling the dogbone insert out, and i've been really happy with it.
With a set of summer tires (Indy 500s') this thing has been a riot.

I did exactly the same mods with my mk6 as you did, minus the tires. It makes the driving experience with the much better too compared to factory, atleast with the mk6. Definitely best <$50 mods ive spent on mods.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:10 pmI'm tempted to go stage 1, but rack up 30k/yr.

As for the stage 1, try do the APR stage 1 low output one, which was designed to “prevent” clutch slip and it’s honestly coming from a stage 1 tuned mk6 owner myself

Tore up Route 100 from Wilmington to West Chester and back today. God damn this car is a riot. I think I totally cooked the brakes at one point in the drive, but they got stronger a bit later so IDK, maybe just low friction road surface. I love everything about this car when you get it on a back road for shenanigans.
On the way home even made a detour by the airport to rip up the rim road. Caught air on a particularly large whoop in a 25 MPH zone.

Lit an entire tank of gas on fire yesterday driving through Amish countryside. 20 MPG over the entire tank. 250 miles? I don't know something like that. Cruised over 12k miles now.
This car is still hilariously fun on a back road in sport mode. I love the grip, the way the steering talks to you, the sound of the motor, the feel of the shifter, stiffness of the brakes, and even the suspension... it all comes together so nicely while bombing a back road. Pretty much no complaints. It got a little choppy on the highway coming home, I-76 has been patched over but really needs to be repaved. I noticed all the big trucks were bucking too but most other passenger cars seemed to not care.
Interesting thing happened though. I realized that despite taking all day to brap around like a lunatic on some truly great roads.... I have more fun going 5-15 MPH through forest trails on my cyclocross bike. Like, a lot more fun. Like, not even close to the same amount of fun. There were only a few sections of roads that truly got the tingling, and I was going probably 70 in a 35 at those points...
Anyway. Here's a pic of said Amish countryside. This road got hella fun, despite a few horse and buggies and piles of horse in the road.

Sounds about right. Speed limits =
I'm afraid to start on bicycles lest I end up broken and broke.

I have way more fun bombing on a bicycle than I do in a car on public roads, no doubt.
