Not much to report on, nothing has broken on the car, nothing out of whack, nothing new popping up to annoy me. It doesn't even really rattle, certainly no more than the GTI did.
One curious bit. It seems to be getting worse fuel mileage now. When I got it, the city MPG was pretty close to the GTI, within 1-2 MPG, and 26 MPG highway. Now I routinely get 13 MPG in the city, and 24 ish highway. Why? Who knows or cares really, just a strange observation, I thought these were supposed to get better as you broke them in. Maybe I'm just dipping into the turbo way more than before. I know I'm shifting at a higher point, at least 3k where before I was shifting earlier.
Anyways.
It's still hilarious on a back road. I still love the steering, brakes, sounds, and responses of the car. Still annoyed at the bouncing at low speeds but I'll just deal with it since there isn't a good aftermarket solution with solid evidence backing the flatbrim claims. Still wish I had an automatic and honestly that'll probably be the motivation to eventually plac.
It's been on a few multi-hour-long highway slogs now and I can honestly say it's pretty good on the highway. Quiet enough for me to not complain, you still hear the burbling exhaust but it's pretty muted if you're not putting the boot to it. Ride smooths out at speed, tons of reserve power just drop a gear to pass and it surges forward. It's not an S class, it's more of a tin can, but I'm happy with it.
In the city, its good and bad I guess. Aforementioned bounce at low speeds combined with the touchy throttle makes for some.... interesting.... 1-2 shifts at low speeds, sometimes with a bunch of bucking. The engine is great IMO, it doesn't make much power below 3k but it's usable and always consistent down there so no issues from me. Stays consistent through hot and cold and all sorts of weather, way easier to drive in humidity than the GTI which fell flat on its face in that. Turning circle has got to be wider than the base WRX, it takes multiple back and forth motions to get this thing out of a parallel parking spot.
Air conditioner could be stronger I guess, probably an issue due to the amount of glass in this car, but hey you can see out of it amazingly well. Stereo could be better but that's not news.
I'm still massively happy with this car. I love walking up to it every day. I love the gigantic wing out back that you always see in the rear view mirror, I love looking out over the hood scoop, I love the exhaust rumble on startup, I love how it sounds at all times, I love the involvement and precision in this car.

I love the stupid POTML plate frame.
I actually do too, very solid subtle trolling.
I should get one for the Shitvic.

The 4 cyl bimmer engines are anymore. That's likely faster in real world conditions than my car is. Yeah if I cared about fun for my next car the 2 series would be in the running, but I think a GTI is more "fun" than that car is while riding, steering, and likely handling better than it.

A garage (door), central AC, and a toilet you can sit straight on. All things my current house lacks.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 2:09 pm https://gulfport.craigslist.org/rvs/d/t ... 38756.html

Just the sound or do they have like power/throttle lag annoyances? The lag annoyed the shit out of me with my MK6.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 2:45 pmI was not a fan, and I drove 4 of em.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 2:40 pm
