The FiST was fine, though the suspension is s'thuper tired. Bilstein backorder'd shocks have been on order for over a year now. I'm too the point where I don't really care anymore - in all likely-hood I'll be in something new in 12/mo or so. It's just 'meh when I can't drive the car the way I know it can be driven.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:26 am updates from recent trip to the dragon? how did the vehicles do?
The 400 did wonderful. It's really an ideal bike for the area.

Heard that. I bet that 400 is a hoot and a half up there.4zilch wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 8:56 amThe FiST was fine, though the suspension is s'thuper tired. The shocks, that have been on order for 443 days have finally arrived on the shores of the USA and are en route to me.

That is some bullshit. I pieced together my Bilsteins one at a time from Amazon and Ebay over the course of a month.

I've had the struts sitting on my shelf for at least as long as the rears have been on order. The rears remained on national backorder for every retailer I spoke with during that time and still are. It seems that things are finally starting to trickle in though.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:32 pmThat is some bullshit. Bilsteins finally installed today. Holy shit, it’s like driving a brand new car.

It is. Usually they’re under the seat, but that space is occupied by some of the fuel tank. I suspect that it being a V4 ( or a twin for that matter) with a design that required a lower profile tank & the need to work around a rear cylinder bank required them to get creative.
Here’s another angle. The space near the bottom of the pic (with the two unplugged connectors) is occupied by a lower portion of the fuel tank and is directly under the rider’s seat.
