Edit: also thanks to Honda being Honda, there are some parts that are common across multiple motorcycles that were sold in the US. You just gotta know what to look for and do the research in the parts manuals.
Look at you, reading and shit.

Mechanical parts BMW does a fucking great job updating the cross-reference part number.
Most of my NLA issues are with interior trim bits.

Bruh, if you knew how much parts cross referencing and locating I did at Cummins. Need a gasket that’s no longer available, but it was used in a kit on an engine with a rare option only produced in January 1989, and find out who still has the gasket set, and talk them into taking that one gasket out of the kit, I’m you’re guy. I enjoy the shit out parts research.

One fork is done, still waiting on a couple pieces for the other. I may need to find a new OE parts source - these guys are sllloooww.

I also love all of the Japanese stickers on this bike.

Updates:

Fork rebuild is done
Fresh pads
Sanded rotors
Flushed brake fluid
Tail and upper cowl has been fitted
Chinese plastics are fucking terrible to install

Took it out for my first proper ride.
Wow this thing runs great. Front suspension and brakes are good. The rear shock needs replaced. Deceptively quick. 90-100mph is no issue. Topped it out at about 120 indicated, probably had more, but the crosswinds were dicey today. Much quicker than I had expected from a 25yr old bike that only made about 60hp.

Fun find: ignition box appears to be aftermarket - rev limiter is at 15500 vs. 14500 found from the factory.
