Additional notes and things to do on the 400:
Still need to do the coolant
Sta-bil in the tank
Install battery tender pig tail
Will likely replace the lower radiator, or maybe both
Will probably do headers + exhaust at some point this winter
If I get the Ape, I'll upgrade MC on it and use the Ape MC on the 400.
Obtain good quality aftermarket body work and fix the OEM stuff
Sit and wait for the weather to get warm again.

Just JDM things.
The 400 needs a lower radiator and likely a fan at some point. Pretty common on these given 25 years of dirt and road spray, they start degrading. The cooling fins on mine pretty much turn to dust with the wipe of a finger. Sadly OEM radiators are NLA, so my options are used from Japan ($$$) or Chinese reproductions ($$).
The fan and shroud have seen better days as well, and I’m not sure it’ll survive a swap. If that’s the case, I’ll likely just go with an aftermarket universal fan. Fortunately wiring is dead simple on these - fused 10A B+ supplied to the fan and a thermostatic ground switch.
