DAP package was introduced in 2016 and was a standalone option so you may be able to find a 2016 with DCC & nav with no DAP. Although like tarspin said, it's actually very nice to have, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. I didn't want it but it's nice to have.
18" Cadiz: 2015/16 Base cars
19" Cadiz: 2015/16 DCC & Nav cars
19" Pretoria: 2017 DCC, Nav, & DAP
19" Englishtown: 2018/19 DCC, Nav, DAP
19" Black Pretoria: Optional for 2019

240 treadwear conti Sport summers, :235: , good all around tar, almost an all season bc they can handle business as usual in freezing temps if the road is clear. Just buy whatever you like on the 18s you order, i swap to 17s for winter. Vredstein performance winter treads that are for two to three seasons.
The ride in comfort with 17s is downright Camry with a C status. In race they are fun wheels to have on. The car can overwhelm the shit out of them but they hold their own for winters with sidewalls.

I just want a mid range compromise .... 18s, with a nice all around tire like a pilot sport as tire or something similar to a dsw. I don’t believe in the “cold temps” require winters. I drive on summer year around here with little to no issues .... gets into 30s/high 20s here. But I need something S rated.Tarspin wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 12:45 am240 treadwear conti Sport summers, :235: , good all around tar, almost an all season bc they can handle business as usual in freezing temps if the road is clear. Some money meaning $500 or $5000? At 5k off I’d go new at $500 we used to have 5k on the mk6 R but it was at a time when the economy still sucked. Nowadays it seems to be sticker or markup out here but I’m figured I’d check in with the experts.
So there is no car play in the pre 18 models correct ? Can one retrofit a newer HU? Or is that like a 2k exercise like before
I'm pretty sure I've seen on vortex people claiming to get 1-2000 off. I assume those people got lucky. I only got $500 off.max225 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 11:05 amSome money meaning $500 or $5000? There is carplay/android auto for 2016+. It's only not in the 2015. I personally prefer the screens in the 2016 and 2017 cars as they're not all glass and fingerprint magnets. 2018+ screens look great when clean but then they're gross after using them.
And it's easy enough to retrofit the 8" screen if you want it in the 16 and 17 cars. I just haven't felt the need to.

If it has there is CarPlay that’s all I need. What’s the screen res like ? The 2015 mk7 I drove had a really pixelated laggy screen.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 11:13 amI'm pretty sure I've seen on vortex people claiming to get 1-2000 off. I feel like the hu is the only thing that sort of dates the interior visually.
2015's had the smallest screen which I think was 5". 16 and 17 got the big performance upgrade to the MIB2 which is 6.5".max225 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 11:16 amIf it has there is CarPlay that’s all I need. I have no complaints about the infotainment. Not laggy or pixelated with the 6.5" screen. It's not super hi res like the new glass panels but I wouldn't call it bad.
And like I said, if you really wanted to upgrade to the 8" or a glass panel, it's not that bad. Especially since it's plug n play.

Reading some articles it looks like golf R has a 50% take rate on the this explains why I have seen so many of them. Thankfully I’m in an area with a ton of golf Rs so finding one with the sag shouldn’t be too bad.
I usually average around 22-23 combined. This was the first weekend where I actually got over 30 on the highway. Only 31 but still.max225 wrote:What are you guys averaging in terms of mpg? Also does the golf r have the smaller 13.2 gallon tank ?
R has a 14.5 gallon tank.

Does the Golf R still use the Haldex system for it's "AWD" ?

That’s surprisingly low, but I guess that’s ok. I average 21 in my m3, and I got 24 in the 335. I did some googling an confirmed the fuel tank as well. That’s nice that i has a larger tank. Shit range me.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 9:25 amI usually average around 22-23 combined. This was the first weekend where I actually got over 30 on the highway.
