He loves it. He previously had a mk6 Golf as well 1.6 TDI and a mk4 Golf.
Cool.
I saw a new Tiguan over there, the short wheelbase version we don't get here. It was definitely nicer looking. The proportions looked better, tauter, less ungainly. I didn't get a chance to snap a pic doe. I'm sure you'll see some the next time you go overseas.
I saw quite a lot of new Tiguans too over in Turkey, I am gonna visit there during holidays. I pass by a VW dealer everyday on my commute and see them sitting outside, I just could not get over on how less compact it is proportion wise.

One night we had dinner in a German tapas place. It served small plates of German food. We ordered 9 and they brought 2 things we didn't order which they let us keep, so we ended up with 11 plates.

I don't understand anything anymore.
And for dessert we had, in addition to a small plate combo of 3 little sweet things, we had this delicious, dark beer with a hint of coffee and chocolate flavors. Slightly sweet and so, so good.

On Thursday we took a 2 hour train ride to Dresden. Cool little city. We firebombed the shit out of it in 1945 and they're still doing some rebuilding. This Baroque church, the Frauenkirche, was not rebuilt until the 1990's. 257 steps up to the dome.
Pics from the dome.

Actually, it's 257 steps down. There is an elevator that takes you up part of the way so you only have to climb like 150 steps up or something like that but you have to walk the whole way down.

No, tourists could go over there for a limited number of hours with a limited amount of money. It was allowed as an economy booster.
Fascinating.
Any pics, or were cameras not allowed. It would be neat to compare how East Berlin looked in the late 80's compared to now. I'm sure the changes are as you can hardly tell any more if you're in the (former) East or West side now.

I'd have to go open some OLD boxes. I was also there in January of 91' for two weeks when things were very much in flux.
