Went on a greenway ride with the wife and the new basket machine last night. It worked well for her, she kept the basket on to hold her phone

That is her favorite feature, weirdly. She is slow but overall does pretty well, hopefully we can go a bit further next time.

Takes more miles for me to get the same gains out of a ride. I also like to push the envelope.

well ive lost 2 lbs so far without even trying hard soo....im doing something.

The wife is loving riding her bike, all in all a major win, glad to have something we can do together. He speeds (or lack of) will take a bit of getting used to, but we went for about 13.5 miles today and she really enjoyed it.

I’ve ridden a total of 44 miles in the past 24 hours, it’s no Zillspec but I’m kind of beat.

I'm incorporating late night rides into my routine this week as well. My new area is kind or hilly, one road specifically has a long and smooth downward trajectory so I got to test out full :plaid:

, I want to do it again tonight. The dad bike is a great all around, it handles groomed trails well, goes pretty good on roads, and is easy to ham around at crawl speeds with the kids. Mine came with a lock, seat rack and little bag for snacks and supplies.

I like this dad bike. I want one similar to it for just farting around town.

I picked it up last fall for $500 all in. Lock, decent tire pump, rack, pouch, bottle holders and bottles, the works. There are newer models out there but its practically brand new and brings me great joy. I need to find a mom bike ASAP and will probably pick up a good used something once again.

This would replace the Macho Man as my everyday / road / long ride / mixed terrain / gravel / singletrack bike. The Macho Man is good, just a bit heavy and I'd like some things like wide 27.5" tire compatibility that my bike isn't capable of. With road slicks this should be quite a bit faster so it would be better suited for group rides.

I bought the Macho Man as a cheap way to test the waters of CX / gravel style riding. Ended up loving it. Sold the roadie because of it and hardly ride the MTB because of it too. The Stigmata would just be an upgrade really, and widen the capability through a stiffer, lighter frame and better tire compatibility.

I definitely get it after riding quite a bit recently. The road bike kind of sucks in many places because the roads aren't perfect (kind of like :poorvette:

ownershit). MTB is cool on trails but not practical otherwise. I don't get much enjoyment out of really hard trails, so I can see where one bike that could do light trail duty and everything else well is appealing.

My kid's bike needs new gear selectors, I'd like to get something that mounts under the handlebars like I have on the dad cruiser. Do you guys order these off of amazon or go to trusted bike store/on line store?

What company makes it? Or what company makes the derailleurs would be the more important question? Total number of gears in the front and in the back?

I usually use Jensonusa.com for bike stuff. Usually good prices. Sometimes Amazon has the stuff though.

Yeah shift lever droppers or bells have been a thing for a few years. You can hack the Sram stuff to actuate those. Shimano that's new though, must be GRX groupset changes.

I like this bike too. Maybe a little too.... off.... for me though.

You can just put straight bars on them. Needs different shifters and such.

I think that I basically want a rigid 29" MTB with a "women's style" low top tube, disc brakes and gravel tires.
