I hate Leftys.

They're :gay:
 They absorb small bumps better than anything else because they ride on needle bearings inside the shock.

Shame Salsa is all SRAM, doe. :disgust:

Love that Horsethief.
Yeah I don't know much about the Horsethief but looking it up now.... it's a damn impressive bike. Sub 30 lbs, Fox 34, Sram GX. I like the Sram MTB stuff, honestly it doesn't feel much different than Shimano to me and my X5/7/9 combo has held up remarkably well.

Gotta pay to play :waxer:

Really though recent Rockshox or Fox forks are probably good enough for everyone.

I just don't like the shifters.

I don't like using my thumb to do everything, I like the index trigger/thumb trigger set up on the Shimano stuff.
Yeah no way around that

:notsure: took like 2 rides to get familiar with it

But whatevs, if you don't like it you don't like it. The only things I don't like on Sram are cassettes since they bend easily, and chains since they break easily. Other than that the parts are good. And the cassette thing might be over with because the new XD 11 speed stuff is supposedly really nice if your wheelset can take the driver. 10-42 is a hell of a range and it's a lot lighter than the equivalent XT 11-42.

Funny, since I run SRAM cassettes and chainz.

 I've bent 2 sram cassettes and change chains out preventatively but the Sram ones don't last as long as Shimano. Last chain on the road bike was a Wipperman, that thing was fan freaking tastic just a tad noisy. Lasted 2 years.

I love my XT items on my bike. Why the SLX over XT? I have XT brakes, shifter, and derailleur, XTR cassette. Been 2 years of not so nice riding and it has all been bulletproof. Watched a buddy bend a sram cassette 2 weeks ago. Never going that route.

XT is perfectly fine, just expensive for the new stuff. Currently SLX is basically old XT.

And XTR cassette?

:bruh:

That shit ain't cheap.

When I bought my i9 wheels, the retailer was offering a $200 store gift card with them, so I used those funds for the cassette. One of those things you buy once.

Very little mechanically different between SLX and XT. XTR gets you some different tech but again not much. For the price alone, SLX is incredible.

If you're buying a full drivetrain though, you can get XT for like $20 more than SLX, and at that point why not. More bling at least, and a few less grams.

I9 wheels

Yeah.... at the bike show I got to play around with all the fancy hubs from DT Swiss, I9, White, and King. Honestly, the Whites were the best IMO. The I9s and kings were loud af. The Kings had a ton of resistance and proprietary bearings. The DT Swiss seemed all right but again really loud.

Bling, doe. For MTB.... not sure.... but cheaper is probably better because you'll trash them regardless.

I've always had a hard time blowing stacks on wheels because they're one of the first things to get trashed.

I prefer reasonably light but super durable to ultra-:waxer: shit.
Well he bought them because they were more durable. He had already trashed 2 sets of cheapish wheels before the upgrade and they've lasted him over 2 years of hard riding without issue. They were pricey but if they last for a long time (and it seems they will), NFG.

That's good then. I've been able to resurrect my poverty cup and cone Bontrager Rhythms a few times now, but they're finally at the trashed point after 5 years.

Road bike wheels are Fulcrums, and they need bearings now, but also 5 years old. Poverty Fulcrum 7's.

I dunno.

That's always so damn annoying. Especially because the tubeless tires are on the rim so goddamn tight. Takes forever to fix.

Too many PSI in the sausage casing?
Im not sure what the hell went wrong. He was pushing off in the bottom of the berms at the wrong time or something - i really don't understand it - i have never burped air and I run super lower pressures.

A friend of mine burped a front tire while doing a stoppie, and promptly crashed.

It was :lolol: worthy.
