Wake up to some :wrong: talk and Frank's on the fire pit in the morgen and go for a nice bike ride in the afternoon. Maybe a few brewskis in the afternoon to numb the pain of more :trump: :wrong: talk.. sounds dreamy!

Actually, my family is way less :okboomer: than you'd expect.

Now, the people my parents camp with, different story.
Yeah I am not surprised! They made you after all... super cool d00d.

I got my cannondale hybrid bike out for a cruise yesterday, most of the roads in my area have painted bike paths in the residential area and the bike path was fairly dry and grippy. I didn't push my luck to try and break any land speed records since i am such a n00b and it's pretty cold out. It's a fun hobby, can't wait for summer!

The weather is 5/7 recently.

Y'all think I should do this for the Macho Man?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hylix-1-1-8-70 ... SwPfBdiBo8
+
https://spank-ind.com/collections/handl ... 2-drop-bar

Vibration reducing handlebars plus ebay china carbon fork for a little under $250 all in.

Or upgrade bikes?

Upgrade bikes.

Wifey got me a set of RevGrips for Xmas. I've been dealing with some awful arm pump at the park and on longer rides, so this should help. There's some adjustment and tunability built in... I'll be interested to see how they feel.

Maybe try out those spank bars. They make flat MTB ones with that vibrocore stuff.

Or try a fatter lower pressure front tire like a 2.6?

2.8 might be too much for the fork, but I don't really know.

I have a boner for an Evil The Calling right now. Thanks to Fled, for sending me a link to the new Evil gravel bike.

27.5", 130mm travel frame. Supposedly hilarious fun to ride. Slack front end for the lolz with a 150mm Lyrik fork on the new ones :lolol: Man, that's about perfect. I liked just about all aspects of the Pivot Mach 5.5 (27.5" wheels, 140mm frame, 160mm Fox36) and all reviews I can find suggest this is lighter and even more poppy/lofty, closer to a 5010 but more capable and pedals better than either the 5010 or the Mach 5.5.

https://www.evil-bikes.com/a/bikes/calling

I wonder how I try one of these out...

Probably special order only - but might be able to advise as to riding one.

They're listed as a :dillerman: on the Evil website.

When they moved locations they became a Giant Flagship store and dropped their other brands. I saw only Giant/Liv when I was there last...

Call them and ask for Chad, he's the owner. Drop me and wifey's name if you want.

Oh, truth.

I’d really like to travel more. But too much of a :scrooge: and getting multiple days off from work is not easy.
Tiny camper tho. State parks are like $20/night.

Yeah, I want to do more long trips, though. Maine is still on my hot list. Local overnights are a little :flaccid: , plus I've seen a lot of the local stuff, too. We'll do a couple this year, have a trip planned to Ohio, and I may end up getting creative with the Tennessee trip. We'll see.

What'll be really nice is having our own space for the family camping trips/meeting up with my parents when they're out camping.

Dog in tiny camper is kinda annoying, but there's room. I need to find a dog bed that we can fit so she's kampfy.
Ah, yeah Maine was pretty nice. Would have been great to spend some more time there. We spent a few nights on the coast but didn't venture inland.

I still want to do a big grand tour of Maine. Up the coast to Lubec, head inland and loop through the north maine woods, stop at a couple :neat: spots, and finish it off with a climb up Mt. Washington.

Would legitimately take a week and a half to enjoy it, though.
That would be awesome. Most of the worthwhile states would require a two week or so trip to really see a good chunk.

On a semi-related note, I'd like to do a mountain bicycle camping trip or two this year.
