Anyone brought their bicicleta on a plane?
I have a fairly new Bianchi hybrid that I'd like to bring to US but I'm not completely sure if it's worth it or if I should just pick up something used instead.

No, but you're looking at anywhere from $200-500 for a really good case to put it in. Helpful if you plan to travel and bike in the future, I guess?Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:31 am Anyone brought their bicicleta on a plane?

Since this isn’t an expensive road bike or similar I guess it wouldn’t make much sense to buy a case only for it to be used once or twice.
There’s a company that will rent you a hard bike case at the airport but it’s only for select airports within Europe.

You rented 2 bikes for yourself?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 12:06 pmI'd rather rent - cost me $130 to rent two decent spec mountain bikes in Florida for 36 hours. I'd never want to fly with my bike.Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:52 am

This would be for relocating instead of the occasional vacation.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 12:06 pmI'd rather rent - cost me $130 to rent two decent spec mountain bikes in Florida for 36 hours. I'd never want to fly with my bike.Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:52 am

The 32c slicks are on the macho man. Spaced the disc rotors out so they're a pop and swap now with no problems. Maybe I'll go for a ride this week.
Oh, also, I rented an e-bike through bike share the other week. It was pretty lolz. Start pedaling just a little bit and you feel electric boost. Then the assist stopped at like 17 MPH. Not too shabby, made getting the bike going a non-event. Although I think a lot of the advantages of it are lost by the extra weight you have to lug around, I def have a higher top speed on the regular pedal bikes because they weigh a solid 12 lbs less (they're also beasts at around 40 lbs haha)

I just want something to use around town and thought it’d be nice to bring over my Bianchi C-Sport (yes, in celeste) but don’t think it’s a viable option.
Not much to bring really so everything will have to go in my 4 checked bags.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 12:41 pmHow are you bringing the rest of your belongings over? Shipping?Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:52 am

Also, they're basically electric dirtbikes. They ruin trails.

Good. What's the max tire you'll be able to shove in there?
I wanna try out some SimWorks Homage tires but they're 43's. They might fit... not sure. I've been super impressed with my WTB Nanos though. They're awesome tires.

Did you write that description?
I like that bike, though - solid build that's definitely worth the $1700.
I mean... I love my rigid cross bike. That thing is straight money.
