Felt cute tonight so moved my squats up to 315. 8,7,6,6. :notbad: first showing. I think August was the last time I touched this weight.

Checked my old log. The best day I had with 315 last year I worked up to 8,7,5,5 so I’m already better than that. I want to be repping 405 by the end of the year.

Didn’t do cardio this morning, so knocking it out now that my lift is over. Posting to kill time.

Shoulders tonight:

Smith machine press 185x10, 195x10, 205x10, 215x9 drop to 135x12 benhind my neck.
Upright row 60lbs on an ez bar 10, 10, 10, 10
Cable side/front raise superset 10/30x 12/12, 12/12, 12/12, 20/15 felt good to hit cables instead of dumbbells. I’ll do this for a few weeks.
Dumbbell rear raise 18x12 wasn’t feeling it like I should, so dropped weight and hit 8x12, 12, 12 with a solid pause at the contraction and got a nice burn.
Machine rear raise 87.5x 12, 12, 16
Dumbbell shrug 80x15, 15, 10 dropped to the 40s and hit another 10 since I didn’t finish that last set

Auds, really. She was in the hospital Monday and Tuesday, and she gave me whatever virus she had.

415x10,10,10,10 on rack deads. :fuckyeah: only my second weight on this week. Definitely gonna hit my goal of 500 this year.

Feeling surprisingly good for having come off the drugs, although to be fair they’re probably still in my system a bit since it’s only been 10 days. I think the enanthate ester on the rest I was taking has about a 10 day half-life.

Another week, another squat PR.

315x9,8,7,6. 3 more reps total over last week’s.

Whenever the anniversary of me hitting 405 for the first time last year hits, I’m gonna go for a triple with it this year.

Full workout from last night:

Warm up with extensions/laying curls superset. Hit that twice to get my knees ready.

Squat: 135x4, 225x3, 275x2, 315x9, 8, 7, 6
Hack squat: 270 (3 plates each side, i don't know what the sled weighs so I don't count it) x 10, 8, 7, 7
Smith machine front squat: 110 (not counting bar weight) x 10, 5, 10, 10 second set the bar kept twisting and latching. Didn't feel like dealing with it.
Smith machine bulgarian split squat: bar x 15, 15, 15, 15 each leg. Holy fuck these burn even at that baby weight.
Paused extensions: 65x 12, 12, 12, 15. These are supposed to be sets of 20. I finished each set by just pumping the last 8 reps on each one, but I'll stay at this weight until I can control the weight and pause each rep at the top like I'm supposed to.
Donkey calve raise: 130x 15, 15, 15
Standing calve raise: 380x 15, 15, 15

Knees are a little achey this morning, but I'm feeling good overall. Definitely needed those burgers I had after the lift.

NIce.

Week 3 of 531 went ok. I got 9 reps on squat and 7 on bench, +1 and -1 of my goal respectively. I was definitely sore the next day which means im stressing myself in new ways so that's a good sign.

Why only ok? well......last week i may have pulled a muscle in low back working out. Sunday I confirmed it since it was pretty uncomfortable the rest of the day. Its not KILLING me, but its there. Yesterday was better, but it pretty sensitive today.

Dang. Nice numbers, but sucks about the back. Could be tight/pulled hamstrings too, so stretch them out and foam roll them if you have one.

Excited to squat tonight. Gonna push for +3 to 4 more reps than last week, like I did last week over the week before. That'll have me in the mid 30s for my total reps, and my goal is 40 with the 4x10. I'll hit 4x10 by the end of the month, and move to 325 before April.

If I can add 10lbs a month like that, I'll move to 405 in November, and be pushing to hit 4x10 with it by the end of December. That'd be huge for me since I hit 405 for a single rep for the first time last July. Doing whatever it takes to get strong and add size to my legs. I've always leaned on being tall and having bad knees as an excuse for them not being up to par with my upper body, but no more excuses. Hard work, blood, probably some vomitting along the way... next time I'm on stage my legs will be completely transformed from what they were.

Third set may have been 9. I spaced out on rep 3 or 4, and counted it as 3 so I didn’t shortchange myself and end the set early.
