Finally finished my 4x10 with 455lbs for rack deadlifts. They moved smooth too.
Jesus. heavy af
I did some additional deadlift volume with drop sets my last workout and got rewarded with a sore back. like not painful or joint, un ironically sore. trying to get on that road to doing 405 for reps

Nice man. Hitting 405 feels awesome.
In ~3 weeks I’m gonna try to pull 500 off of the floor. Will
Be a little weird pulling from the floor since all I’ve done this year is rack deadlifts, but I think I should be able to get it as long as I’m explosive in the beginning of the lift. I have a bad habit of trying to ease into the first rep and then up the intensity from there, so these 1 rep max attempts are tough for me.
evening workouts are just not as good. a somewhat ugly 370 for five on squats, got all 5 bench press at 225.
tried to do some pull-ups with an assistance band, it wouldn't stay on my feet and I snapped the shit out of my ass a few times with a huge rubber band. it made the child cry it was that loud. it hurt a little bit.

I did my machine shoulder press last night. Maxed out the machine’s 240lbs again, and added 45lbs of dumbbells to it. I stacked them differently this time and they were pushing each other into the guide rails and causing extra friction, didn’t get nearly the reps I got last week with the 275 or whatever it was.
Animal finally revamped their pump product, and mine gets here in the mail today. I’ll get to play with it for SRM day. Expecting some major vascularity. It looks to be dosed really nicely. One of their pro athletes is a registered dietician and did a thesis on pump agents for one of his degrees; he’s the one that formulated this for them so should be pretty
No caffeine which constricts your blood vessels, but has some other stuff for focus. Two nootropics, and L-tyrosine. I’m really stoked about this. I may stack it with a 1/4-1/2 dose of their normal pre workout Fury down the road after I see how it performs on its own.

Benefits of one vs the other? I hadn’t thought about going to dumbbells.
They’ll both stimulate slightly differently. I was just thinking 40lb dumbbells for that many reps was a lot and explains why my arms are so much smaller than yours

My scale came with a tape, so I can measure things now.

Tried a safety squat bar in Sunday for fun. Buddy had 265 loaded up (bar is 65lbs, had a 100lb plate on each side) and I hopped under it and took it for a spin. Fuck that thing will challenge your core. Definitely felt more like a front squat than a back squat with how the weights swing out in front of you. Next time front squats get programmed in by my coach, I’ll use that instead since the set up is easier than holding a bar to your throat.
Shout out to Brandon for the Goblet Squat recommendation. Finished using 75 lb. dumbbell today. I finish with the leg presses and those tell me how much I've already worked. These things clearly
Ramrod straight back for ass to grass form. Also a great exercise for hotels, where dumbells are often available but free weight bars are not.

Yeah the SSB looks like it would work big time.

I know you aren’t rocking the home gym setup, and you probably don’t want to haul your own bar in and out of the gym, but there are a few companies doing Black Friday sales on specialized bars like this...
