House Fire

:fax: said was I was thinking but with more detail. We actually had a system like this at our house in PA of all places. It ran the aux heat frequently in the winter, resulting in $400+ electric bills but no fires. They're designed to run 24/7 for as long as your wallet can take it. Holy shit, in P...

Indeed. I would love a good :manuel: wagon, but I feel like that's something I will have to build myself.
You'd be just the guy to do it, too! :like:
I've been browsing wagons out of curiosity.

Noice. That lines up nicely with my 2025 timeline of looking at an R. Of course, if the Rabbit keeps going the way it is, I may just hang onto it for longer and extend my ride on the no car payment train. :word: No payment life is a good thing. But I am encouraged about the changes/fixes VW is talk...

Also what’s 1+ ? Intercooler + intake ? That’s mad fast though… my prediction … those 450 wheel hp engines will blow the fuck up before 100k miles for sure. No way can they handle that sort of power reliably long term… that’s just not enough displacement and way too much heat to put through the fac...

OT 21: DFD Giveth and DFD Taketh Away

Bought an HID kit for the wife's Cherokee. It wound up being $100 cheaper than the last time I checked. This should be no problem for Captain Fabrication. Ha. Yeah, it should be pretty tame by comparison. The relay harness it came with is already terminated, so I may be cutting and crimping as need...

Anybody end up buying anything cool over the BF/CM deals? I loaded up on supps from Animal, bought a few pairs of jeans, and we bought some counter/bar stools for the kitchen from the company we got our table and chairs from. Bought an HID kit for the wife's Cherokee. It wound up being $100 cheaper...

I didn't really eat much of anything yesterday. We went over to my mom's for dinner, which was supposed to be ready at 4, but it wasn't ready until a little after 5, which meant I had to drive back home to feed the dog and give him his medicine for epilepsy that is on a 12 hour regiment. By the time...

Recommend a new truck for my dad

GM would be out if their truck comes with the 10 speed. Both Ford and GM developed it with their own programming. Maybe it shifts better, but it is the same transmission. I would recommend a Ram 1500. The 8 speed ZF is a great trans, the Hemi is a stout engine, and the coil springs in the rear will ...

It doesn't bother me on my GTI because it releases as soon as I blip the throttle, which is what I do anyway to get moving on a hill. I did drive a C7 and it had the rev match turned on, which did mess with me as I was naturally hitting the throttle to rev match on a downshift and that was screwing...

Yes, but that ride quality on the track translates to a miserable ride quality on the street. The new Type R looks like it is riding about as well as a 90s shitbox on eBay coilovers, whereas the Golf R looks to have a much more compliant ride at the expense of only one second at the track, which is...

I would venture to say 90% of the type R drivers will never track and honestly who gives a flying fuck about the track. If you wanted to “track” you wouldn’t/shouldn’t do it in a car you enjoy driving daily because they are just not complimentary attributes. A $10k gutted e36 will be a far better t...

I agree. The TT V6 is cool in its own right, but a V8 would have been that much cooler.

Of course, with GM being GM, they probably would have dusted off the Northstar and then wondered why nobody bought one.

So, after spending a week with the V6 6th Gen Camaro, I have a few thoughts on the car.
