Chevy Suburban an interesting experience.
The "wasted space" in the engine compartment is so that service can be done without taking the car apart. Murican vs German engineering. The engine sits between/slightly behind the front shock towers... there is also a spot for a 2nd Battery... :butwhy; http://www.exph.net/images/2016/Che...

RE: RE: RE: Re: Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm not really interested in spending more money on stuff. If I buy a new rearview for something custom it'll have a dash cam in it. But I'm cheap/frugal. These little reverse cams were like, $13 a piece I think. This whole little cam project should cost less than $30 or so...

Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
Also, I'd recommend bench testing your setup first. This is cool, in for results I'd love to put a front cam on my C6 HEre's what this guy did for his C6 setup. It's nice. Except for that screen that's velcro'd to the left side of his dash. That just screams janky. I like his rear cam though. It's ...

What do you mean? What I've got shown is how I think it should work, but I'm not sure if the RCA cables will flow backwards through the Y connection so I need to know if I need to run a diode or something else to prevent it from getting power to the other camera. I'm 99% sure that your diagram is f...

Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
How will the dash/receiver know what to show and when? DPDT switch means that only one camera can transmit a signal at a time, so it will just show whichever camera is currently turned on. Exactly. This should work for a few reasons. 1) The receiver automatically turns onto camera mode once a camer...

Re: Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
I ran across a post on the corvette forum of a guy that did dual cams but his screen accepted multiple rca inputs. Took a few notes from his setup. I wanted the front cam just for fun, but he's got his set up to show parking clearances forwards too... Something I may use more than I thought since my...

Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
Also, I'd recommend bench testing your setup first. This is cool, in for results Yeah I plan on maybe doing some simple wiring and using a 9v for power (from what I understand these cameras take a super low amount of draw), and then plug it into my tv inside to see how it acts. I've got a friend wh...

Any electronic gurus here? Double reverse cam setup
So I've got my reverse cams coming in today, I need to figure out how to route them. I'm doing 2, one in the back like a normal reverse cam and one in the front under the bumper of the Z06 just so I can see how close curbs and shit are when I'm approaching. Just for the hell of it. So I need a littl...

Been working stupid long hours. It's Tuesday and I think I'm already at 20 hours for the week. Got home late, figured I'd start gluing this shit back together to let one piece dry overnight. (for reference, I painted the screens black) These things are a 3 piece design. Screen, plastic backing piece...

Saw the house this weekend. The changes are good. That feaux wall being removed makes it a really nice space. The lights he's got in are pimp. Makes me wanna upgrade all of mine.
Oh wait, I don't have lights in my house. PAW PAW STRIKES AGAIN!

I'm still looking at the XS-Power system, $800 for the headers + catted X pipe. It's the same price range. What interest me is the tune your friend was talking about, $200 vs. a $500 dyno day. I'm not a huge fan of out of the box tunes as I'd want something that's optimal for my car's actual fuel m...

Re: Obligatory C5 Thread
A guy me and :melon: know installed some Texas Speed C5 headers on his '01 Z06. Talked to him at the Cars and Coffee this Saturday. They're like $500, and I think you can get the mid pipe with cats and shit for 7 or 800 or so. Said he installed them from the top. They're a little crooked going back ...

Let's update a dead thread that no one cares about! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So after riding home from the Cars and Coffee in Baton Rouge Saturday and witnessing a Chevy 1500 diesel pass an 18 wheeler on the shoulder and throwing a tire tread from the shoulder into the air and into the slow lane, I've decide...

Re: Stitchfix and other clothing chat
I'm definitely too cheap to spend my money on nice clothes. But shit I really should get some. I make my own polos for work. I just order Gildan or other nice brand shirts and use my plotter and shirt press to make my own work logos... BAM, INSTA-PROFESSIONAL.

Headers and tune are worth 20-40 on both. It's :impressive: really. The LS6 heads alone are worth 30. They're that much better than the LS1 heads. Hell, a good CNC job on LS6 heads rivals a lot of :waxer: aftermarket head castings. They're really great. Seems like it makes the Z06 worth it doe? I p...

IDK, sounds like we need to test this! I'd probably do headers too, but our cars pull pretty closely to one another. Headers alone would get you to Z levels, really. 4.10's would be the end. My car with 4.10's will be :lolgasm: I hope not undrivable... I'd love to think headers alone would do it, b...

Gears alone? doubt it. When we did a few pulls, his C5 was right behind my Z. It was a VERY slow walk. Going from a 3.42 to 4.10 is a pretty substantial gain where I could easily see that gap shrink. Now off the line might be a different story. I've got shorter 1-2 gears, but his shorter overall ge...
