Car Talk 4: Now with more carpocalypse!

Also, the "premium" for 93 is getting insane these days. I paid $.50 more per gallon for 93 than 87 this morning. MIGHT start driving the :poorvette: a bit less. It is a $.70 split here, except on Tuesdays when Exxon and Shell will knock $.20 off. All in all, it amounts to an extra $7.00 - $11.00 p...

Car Talk 4: Now with more carpocalypse!

The release of the CT4-V details had me check out ATS-V prices... I think I might get an ATS-V at the next :plac: time. They are already down in the mid-high 30s for good examples. Near 500 hp V6TT, 8AT, :fancy: computerized diff and shocks, recarbros, HUD, etc. They also look pretty good IMO. I be...

I've been looking hard at the Lapis WRXs lately. Some days, I'm really tired of my truck, and other days I'm not.

There is the factor of the bed size. If someone wants a 6" bed, the Gladiator is right out.
Until they bring out a regular cab JT, perhaps?
That thing looks sweet and would be a great little truck with the Pentastar and 6 speed manual.

Jeeponomics 101: Eternal tirekicking for the deal-less Jeep

There is the factor of the bed size. If someone wants a 6" bed, the Gladiator is right out. That volume on midsize trucks is minuscule. MAYBE 10% of sales if that. It's a legitimate reason why someone would select the Chevy or Ford variants over the Gladiator, though. Hence my response to the post ...

I really wonder how well/not well the gladiator will be selling ... . especially after the first 6 months of backorders are through. Also I hear the diesel is coming to the jl pretty soon. I don't wonder at all. This thing is going to CRUSH other mid size competitors. How can it cannot? Are you goi...

If I did all this work to a car and somebody ran into me, I would kill myself. After killing the other guy. That's what the collector car insurance is for. The other person's insurance company will kill them after they get hit with the bill for the agreed value payout. But that's not to say that ch...

A few more updates: Since the battery we got isn't a factory battery size, none of the battery hold downs fit. Why didn't we get a factory battery size? Because the auto store didn't have one in stock when we wanted to start the car. So, fast-forward to now and we made our own: https://stored-edge.s...

The "bench" in my Silverado is nice. Essentially two buckets with a third seat that folds down into a console armrest. The interesting thing is that the fold-down has three cupholders for what is essentially a two-person truck. Then there are an additional two cupholders on the doors. I guess Chevy ...

The new Jetta GLI is pretty enjoyable to drive. I took one out the other day. The dealer quoted me $25,800 just for walking in the door on the 35th Anniversary model, which was something like $1100 off sticker.

Is it better for the product to go away because it's obsolete, or evolve and stay around? With the prices where they're at, we're already getting market feedback that's they're too expensive and other vehicles make more sense forany buyers. It's only a matter of time before the Wrangler is too nich...

I can get behind that Solely going to one specific brand without even considering other options is what I'm referring to. My mom does t...

It's uncharted territory, IMO. There's never been this much capacity, so it's reaching (if it already hasn't) oversupply. The rest of the year will be really interesting. It’s also never been such a viable, nice day to day car for life, so maybe they can steal sales from other stuff. Plus if it’s t...

5k-8k sets these apart... BMW also comes with 3 years of maintenance. You could get a manual on the M2 if you wanted... DCT vs 8at. It has 50 more wheel HP. It has a far stronger aftermarket and support network. It has a better brand M2 has a back seat. They are too close in price, unless Toyota pu...

That's an interesting question: What would you do if you were 30 with no capital, no degrees, and no professional experience? That's exactly where many of these uber drivers are today.
