KL I'll be honest in saying that I don't hate it. It rides very well and has enough oomph to scoot when you need it to. :notbad: Not gonna lie, they have grown on me over the last couple of years. I probably should have gotten a KL Trailhawk, but went :fullretard: instead. I forget what trim level ...

It depends on how aggressive the tune is, and by "aggressive" I mean that engine is tuned to the ragged edge of where 93 is questionable. The knock sensors do a pretty good job of picking up any sort of pinging and making adjustments before bad things happen. I wouldn't bother with octane boosters ...

I'll drive her Cherokee more than she'll drive my truck. I can get some severe motion sickness when riding as a passenger, so it is easier for me to drive whenever we go somewhere. XJ or KL? How are you going to get around emissions? The stock exhaust manifolds are rather restrictive. well here in commifornia smog is every two years. I won't have to smog the car until 2021 so i'll be good for a quick minute. However, if you know a guy that knows a guy, you can get a hot smog done. They...

It's tuned for 93, but here in commifornia we only have 91 octane. It depends on how aggressive the tune is, and by "aggressive" I mea...

My Silverado is auto because GM decided to not make the GMT-900 with a manual in the US. The manual GMT-800s with the 4.8 are unicorns and get snatched up as quickly as they get posted. I looked for months, but every time one popped up, I would call and it would be sold already. Otherwise, I love my...

:plac: finds v2.0: Moar gold on the crangslist

My ultimate goal is to swap a Chevy V8 into the chassis once I'm done with the Impala. I feel the E36/E46 would still be simple enough to accomplish this with relative ease without having to deal with other electrical components freaking out. I'm wondering if there is anything that would make one c...

Right, also E90s are nearly at E46 prices, I would go for the newer chassis. However it is amazing to note that my 1992 E36 had 200hp, a 2010 328i also has 205/220hp. Barely any improvement in 20 years. E36s have been ragged to shit for so long they are going up, similar to what happened to E30s, t...

This is my 5th one through 3 generations (E36, E46x2 F30, F80), the BMW engineering philosophy does NOT care for longevity past the CPO warranty term, this has been very well documented through various directives such as never changing trans fluid etc. I'm starting to look at E36s and E46s as somet...

How do you roll? Windows up or down?

My windows are usually down in the warmer months when it isn't raining. I like resting my arm on the sill while going down the road like a good ol' American.

The newer cars make that harder to do, though.

Except for the ZR1, why would anyone want to buy a C7 now when the ME car is obviously on deck? Even with the 6th year 15% percent discount at 80% of dealers, a new 2019 C7 with 500 miles will be worth 50% of it's MSRP when the ME car comes out. Everyone will pay MSRP or ADM for the first ~18 month...

Infrequent updates does not mean infrequently working on the car. In fact, it is quite the opposite. We addressed the issue with the firewall flexing every time the clutch pedal was pushed by making a bracket that tied one of the master's mounting bolts to the steering column. We may revisit and tie...

Has Subaru not heard of o-rings? How do you design something that requires a seal, but for some reason it needs to be RTV, and then make it absolutely critical that the correct amount of RTV is applied? I guess a bunch of FRS/BRZs are going to be able to be scooped up cheaply for V8 swaps. Yea, thi...
