Obligatory C5 Thread

The last set I got a couple years ago were like $90. I just call them up and give them the size I need. :ohdang: I might consider this. I've got some valvetrain noise that I think is due to my valvesprings being overkill plus spaghetti PR's. A better set of PR's and springs more fit for my cam (max...

Skid plates on a street car just make me :lolol: :butwhy:
The GTO came like that from the factory due to the aluminum pan's sump sitting in front of the crossmember.

They are tapered, which helps with the strength. I've run them on three different engines now that all used factory heads without needing any additional clearancing. I do run dual springs on my GTO, but I have run PAC 1218s in the past. Most of the beehive fears stem from the Comp 918 nightmare fro...

Going off of this, you can save some loot by finding C6Z manifolds and midpipes. Your cam selection would need to keep those manifolds in mind. I would use Trend 3/8" pushrods. They fit and are my go-to for any LS build. Dual valve springs aren't necessary as long as the cam's lobe design doesn't r...

https://imgflip.com/s/meme/Grandma-Finds-The-Internet.jpg So, $65K for a 1LT Z51. Yeah, it is $11k more for a C8 2LT Z51 than my C7 2LT Z51 with the same options... but, cannot have the manual transmission. Maybe it will be like the 2014 SS where enough people will bitch about the car being automat...

I was thinking the same thing, but I question the long term daily reliability and maintenance of highly modified cars like yours. I don't know enough about them, and they might be no worse than an unmodified LS3 car, but I pack the miles on mine so that's really the only question mark. I'd love to ...

I would go with the longest trailer possible while keeping within your towing capacity. It will help greatly with highway stability and maneuvering.

Question for the collective. I bought the r32. I figured that a diet would let me fit into the sparco sprint seats. Well for one I’m fat and it would take a while to lose that weight which I’m working on. And two my shoulders are about five inches too wide. I’ll never fit properly. I need seat sugg...

So far, I really like it. It is much quieter than my truck and much more fuel efficient. Of course, I'm already needing to borrow a truck because the rear axle in the El Camino is on its way out the door and I'm looking to pick a replacement up. :fuckyeah: They're really great little cars. Too bad you can't buy a preproduction unit. I think there's a "lightly used" blue Z51 that would be available.

Indeed. VW had 1.9%, but I would have had to give up $2K in discounts to get the offer. After doing the math, there was only something like a grand difference between the 3.59% the dealer was quoting me versus the VW 1.9%. It didn't make sense. Even less so when I found out my credit union had actu...
