Car Talk 6: Best of times and Worst of Times

It could've looked so much better if not for the golf clubs requirement.

The E-Ray 5 spoke wheels are so hot though.

OK i am not alone in this... I always found the claims of "shit just hoses off" exaggerated with both the car and the wheels. Coated or not. I do find that dirt doesn't stick AS much to a coated car but it may be a marginal improvement at best... and it is a bit easier to clean. With whee...

Don't think anyone is claiming the car is perfectly clean, but it's really no different than paying $15 for the touchless car wash.

The Shittsburgh Dan gave me is mint. Got under my lowered :poorvette: and held it up solid in the driveway for about 10hr the other day without drooping at all.

No chance I would attempt to coat the OEM wheels myself. The Apex ones are simple enough though. https://youtu.be/nqox-iCRIeM?si=3xxvwfcCWJE1RjSd I used the Turtle Wax brand spray stuff and left it on really thick for the barrel and pockets of the wheels. I applied it and didn't really bother buffi...

I'm sure BROla offers a nice exhaust. Their touring style with full mufflers usually offer a pretty deep tone but exhausts are very expensive now. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mini-catback-exhaust-borla-140120#fitment I use Green Filter, as do a lot of people I saw at Grid Life running on the tr...

Your preference in Corvettes is noted for the record, and duly considered. Not getting a black car, black wheels, or a red interior. Brand new 2LT order with Brola is $88K, 1LT is $81K. Forged APEX ramz are another $4K. Also I just need to rent a C8. This R53 is looking like it will be my first bla...

I think the dealo is that they "fixed it" in 2017 but I have not researched it. LG also offered some epic triple radiator kit or some such. I'm mostly offering it as my contribution to content today because by and large prices are not terribly reasonable. And the almost 95% selection of c...

I think you are right that the overheating problems are on the track but it’s still kind of gives me pause considering the car was built for the track. That said, it is a sweet car, and if it tickles your fancy and prices get into a reasonable realm, I’d say go for it. I think the dealo is that the...

Serious question can a C7Z even put the power down ? It’s way too much power through a single set of wheels. C8 is priced lower than a C7Z and imo a better car. Not sure why one would even consider the Z unless it’s 50k. 100k is insane they had like 8-20k on the hood new before the c8 came out. Som...

So I have floated the idea of a C7Z from time to time. Why? 650/650/TR6070, finally decent seats, acceptable reliability, apparently the best manual Corvette that is going to be made. Man..........it is ROUGH out there. On an Autotrader nationwide search, there are 52 examples of a C7Z Manual Coupe...

I used the pressure washer on all the cars today to wash the pollen off. It's pretty rare I physically touch a car with a sponge anymore. Most of the time a rinse, Obsessed Garage foam cannon, and another rinse are as good or better than a touch less wash and I can do both cars in about 5mins. Buuu...
