POWL: The demise of Manuel

My wife never cared, but now that we have a :baby: I could easily see a scenario where she's pissed about me driving :manuel:. Once the BRT line is finished I won't be driving to work anymore, so if her car is ever in the shop or something and she needs to use mine to take the kiddo somewhere she'd ...

Re: Das Auto: VW Chat

:notwrong: V2.4, MOAR powah! Yeah I see what you're saying. I'm guessing it's wise to stay within the design limits of the shitty product, so stock. Maybe tunes that emohasize a punchy low end with a huge mountain of torque stress the hpfp more by requiring more fuel pressure at lower engine RPMs? ...

Das Auto: VW Chat

The wifes :mk6: got dropped of for the valve cleaning. $350-500 depending how dirty they are. Local exotic certified shop is doing it. Bentlys and ferraris are piled around. I'll take a pic if he lets me when picking it up. He is also an APR :dillerman: A local VW tech tells me that VW campaign exi...

Nice coogles! That's some outstanding volume for OHP. Thanks! Am curious to see how I do on deads on Saturday and if I'll be able to put another 10-20 pounds on the bar. With as hit-or-miss as my back has been for the last 10 years I haven't had a chance to train heavy for several weeks at a time. ...

Let's see...heavily modified, plenty of farts, first model year...yeah, this would be a terrible idea. But $13.5k is pretty damn cheap and that's a $4,700 supercharger kit. I've watched a few videos of supercharged Toyobarus and holy hell do they look like fun. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/det...

This should be priced a few k cheaper I think, but would be a fun car. Color and wheels are 5/7.

What weight was the working set?
I programmed this first cycle with 145 as my 1RM. I can do a bit more if I cheat, but that had been a pretty reasonable strict standing OHP 1RM max estimate for me. So 145 * .9 * .9 = 117lbs, I used 115.

The Great Turbo Yaris Depression

First post updated with the whole saga so far and some car history, just for shits. :whocares:

I'm afraid to ask a dealer what this car is worth on trade, but it's semi-officially for sale if anyone is crazy enough to buy it. $18,000, currently at 41,600 miles.

Koolaid is good, doe.

I'm tres impressed with the new 3 - my only complaint is the lack of a turbro.
The loss of the multi-link for a torsion beam rear is a bit :disappoint: , but I realize it'll probably matter exactly none for anyone who's looking at one of these.

I've started using a band on my SLDL. I attach it to something behind me, then have it come across my hips. Reminds me to push my ass back on them and I'm feeling my hams more than I ever have before. Hell yeah. I do that on occasion on my SLDLs and sometimes even to warm up the hip hinge on both l...

Dang thats a cool idea with the front squat hold. Probably a nice core challenge there too. One thing I've noticed that really helps my squat is doing a few sets of light laying leg curls to warm my knees up and get my hamstrings tight. I have way more control when I'm deep in the hole of a squat l...

Nice man!! Hope the back continues to heal up too. I’m a huge believer that a weak posterior chain is most lifter’s problem. I attribute my recent squat gains to working in hip thrusts every week over the last few months. Thanks! Definitely agree on the weak posterior chain problem. It's sort of an...
