Chris, it all sounds like fun on the internet and getting your just desserts and ALL OF THAT.....and then we've got guys calculating "is it worth your time, $200/hr and all that shit." Here's the reality. You're an upwardly mobile exec in the auto industry. You're aspiring to be upper management, o...

Probably $930(that's 3 weeks. It's bout 310 after taxes per week) without accounting for any earnings deductions the first week or any Vaca payouts. Probably won't take more than an hour to get registered. It's not busy this time of year. But it will literally be a month or more before you see the ...

Yeah, I withdraw my earlier comment as :wrong: I forgot you offered them two weeks and they told you to pound sand. I would open a line of credit at Tony's with my government check. The biggest thing I need to figure out is if it's worth my time. I'm way beyond max benefit, and I'm looking at 2-3 w...

Wow, I had no idea that if you offered a resignation period and they walked you out that you could still get unemployment. Neat!
Depends on the state.

FYI, employees in the state of Michigan don't pay into unemployment insurance tax directly. Employers pay a percentage in tax on the first 9000 in wages per year to employees. So if that plays into your decision.... Wether or not that's built into your pay is another story. Some states you do pay in...

I'm assuming you gave a future date for your last day. That's when the quit is effective. Between Monday, when they escorted you out, and the day your quit would have becone effective, you are entitled to benefits on the separation. There are other requirements, the biggest being physically going t...

Not taking money that is owed to you shouldn't be a badge of honor. No shit. I've paid into unemployment my whole life. If I'm entitled to something, I'll take it. I was completely willing to work the next few weeks and was walked out instead. If that entitles me to something, I'll do it. Sick time...

You really should file for unemployment. You be entitled between the week you were walked out, so beginning last Sunday, and the week your last day was going to be based on your notice to them, at which point it becomes a voluntary quit. You can do it all online. You'd be giving away money if you d...

So... do you still get pay for the next two weeks, or nah? What about PTO pay out? My BIL works in financial planning for a large firm, and basically, if you give your two weeks, are escorted out immediately for the safety of the clients, which makes sense, but you still get the two weeks of pay. I...

It may, I haven’t looked much into it.

If you’re looking for energy/focus, do some reading on nootropics.

Anyone use Kratom? I don't. I follow one of the Bell brother's, the one who made the steroid documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster, and he's all about it. He was addicted to opioids for years and swears kratom helped him kick it. He has a documentary about it on Netflix called A Leaf of Faith. He ge...

Turns out there is no stats for time played but I must’ve done 100-150h already and was surprised I’m still only at 60%. Anyone playing online? Gave it a few tries with a friend but we would occasionally get kicked out of each other’s room, so I gave up. Perhaps it’s more stable now with the update...

I'm listening to The Darkness now. 5/7 band, too bad they didn't stay together. I just went back and listened to a couple of their live shows on YouTube a few weeks ago. Great band. I bought into the hype and got the Sony wh1000xm3 headphones. More than I wanted to spend but they sound great to me.

Snow tires I bought have been well worth it.

Going from low profile 19s to 16 inch winters was a little strange at first, just feels like driving in high winds on the highway.

Desert I know you wondering...

How was it? A solid 4/7 for me. Gaga was really good. She can act and she can really sing. Cooper was ok. Dave Chapelle and Andrew Dice Clay (as her dad) were really good in their small rolls. The whole thing was a bit maudlin for me and some of it just didn't ring true, or plausible. I don't think...

Oh yeah i forget that it has rear drums. That's amazing tbh If people keep spending stupid money for vehicles with old tech, then there is no incentive to change things up. Having driven the Tacoma, I don't see what the hoopla is all about. It does nothing remarkably well. I was considering one unt...
