OT 14: Just the tip, again.

Powered on my work notebook for the first time in 13 days. I had cleared all my emails so 0 were unread. This morning: 39,812 unread messages.

About to do a CTRL-A, SHIFT-DELETE after scanning for anything from HR.

Depends, suppose just my personal preference. I prefer oem look vs giant excavator bumpers, but there are alternatives in between RIght on.. Yeah I don't like anything too crazy, but some of the aftermarket stuff looks really good/cool IMO. But this might be the way to go for now.. http://www.wrang...

Jeeponomics 101: Eternal tirekicking for the spotless Jeep

Le sigh.. I get home last night, and someone is in my parking spot, forcing me to take the one available spot between them and a chain link fence. Pulling into the spot (music was on and windows were up) and all the sudden I see the fence shake and one of the posts wiggle... Didn't think I was near...

Don’t forget the grill with meats. Oh yes this is necessary as well. Hot dogs and burgers and bins of sodas. Maybe some potato salad for the white people, and curry chicken for the :amir: MMmmm potato salad that's been sitting in the sun for a few hours. That'll loosen the bowels enough to force th...

The newest autos with automatic hill descent control are :mindblown: I'm firmly on that ship now. Don't all the actual off roaders plus about a quarter of the faux-roaders have hill descent now? Crosstrek has that :jimp: Not ones with :manuel: The old system in my Xterra was pretty shittastic compa...

Autos also have hill descent control. My buddy that has a $50k in mods JK and goes to Moab and the Rubicon trail all the time says his JL will be an automatic. He regrets buying and modding his manual for the harder stuff. He says that when his jeep was stock + a small lift and tires the stick was ...

Half a Car: The Motorbike Thread

Surprisingly, I saw a ton of new Harleys ridden by younger guys and gals on Kauai and Oahu. I had thought I would see a lot of older bikes, but almost all of them were Milwaukee 8's. I guess technically we could afford it. But I make 50k a year and can’t justify a 25k bike. As much as I would love ...

People say this "control" thing, but I've never experienced it myself. I really prefer wheeling an auto after wheeling both extensively. I think it's more like crawling down a hill in 1st and letting the engine brake for you in 4lo or whatever, vs having the tranny shift to god knows what.. or tryi...

90F, 51% humidity here. Brutal.
8:15pm, 94f 50% humidity.

It might get below 90 by 1am before it starts warming up again.
The temp here over the last week has been very, very consistent. It never dropped below 75f, went up to 88f and was between 70-95% humidity.

Waimea canyon. Was supposed to do it earlier in the week but we moved things around. Yesterday we were on Oahu and I tried to haggle a few authorized distributors into working a discount on a Rolex Daytona, but as I suspected..... They didn't go for it. I figured with the 4% sales tax here and a di...

Waxer says the JL is pretty much a Ranger Rover vs. the JK. I would have to check the JL out, to see if worth the premium. Probably is for a one car guy. Well, the JL has more attributes outside of the transmission. But for those attributes you'll have to spend a pretty penny. I'd probably roll in ...
