Attendance is the cause of most separations. Most states won't disqualify if your absence was for something out if your control. Personal illness is typically not disqualifying. Just call in sick. If your company has a doctor's note policy, some states will honor it, some won't. Worst case scenario you go to urgent care every day with the shits until they fire you
What is and isn't considered out of your control varies and doesn't make sense in a lot of places. Run over a nail and are late? Should have had runflats.....so you need to be carful. Illness is the best

If you want to get fired and get benefits in KY before your move. I can basically 100% assure you will get them

What about job performance ? I.E failing to do the tasks expected of you?KYGTIGuy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 11:30 pmAttendance is the cause of most separations. Most states it has to be intentional. Burden of proof is on the employer to prove that it was intentionally done poorly. Outside of you admitting to it, a company can show that you did it well in the past as evidence that you could do it satisfactorily eg your poor performance was intentional.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 20, 2018 11:33 pmWhat about job performance ? Conversly, f you can show your job duties changed or expectations were altered, that's weight on your side of the scale.
If you just stop doing things that are asked of you, that's more violation of policy, insubordination. Better to do them but do them poorly.
If you were in over your head and couldn't do the job, you get benefits most places.

Most initial determinations are made by morons no matter the state. You have appeal rights and I can almost assure you win.
Michigan is horrible. Most overturned determinations on appeal in the country. Very employer friendly. KY on the other hand is easy. Just get "sick" and they take your word for it .
I've reviewed determinations for the Feds at USDOL nation wide in almost all states. After the fact it's hard but planning to get fired is cake

I should also point out that if you're a manager/owner i can help you lower your tax rate and get rid of people
That's actual something I've considered. Opening a consulting business where for a fee I'll restructure your HR practices to reduce UI cost/tax.

For some reason I always thought KY was a black dude.
Kind of like how I always thought Griff was Asian.

Well, considering how I mentioned my Greek-ness several times, coupled with all my convo's on here with TK about Greece, yea, you might be onto something.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 12:33 pmI'm going with some kind of mediterranean species.
