I am :disappoint: in the nation's apparent lack of :doge:

End is near for Subaru. I think it's just that other companies have been having all out Crazy Bob fire sales and 0%/96mo financing type bs.

Subaru hasn't had a new product in a while. Combine that with no :dill: s, and being flat in the face of everyone else going :fullretard: on :dill: s is :impressive: , really.

Subaru is fine. The brand is bulletproof.

I do think that Sept. will be an outlier due to spending and boost from natural disasters (thoughts and prayers). End of quarter push, etc. October will probably be down, and then December will be nuts.

With any luck, next year we'll see modest YOY declines with spending reigned in a bit.

True. The recent crosstrek/impreza updates seem to be selling well. And they have that big SUV thing coming on next year.

Isn't the Forester and Outback ancient? The fact that they continue to sell in any real volume is :impressive: too.

2014 model year was the last major revision to the Forester. But I don't think it's had a major chassis revision since 2009. The 2014 update was more of an interior refresh, new bumpers, new engines and trans. But call it 3 years old. :iono: if that qualifies as ancient.

Legacy is basically the same age-wise. Based on a 5-6 year product cycle they won't get major changes until 2019/2020. I'd imagine some infotainment / powertrain / whatever type updates in between. But that means you should hear about new ones next year.

Usually, 3 years after a facelift, a vehicle gets a full redesign. Maybe Subi doesn't need to do that.

Guys Subarus do plenty of discounting. They are not unicorns, they just have far better MSRPs than most. So the discounting isn't as apparent. Also they are running 0/72 financing alone with others.

There were at least some chassis updates for 2014. It went from not passing the small overlap tests to getting a Good grade or whatever in 2014. I thought it was an all new chassis (same w/the WRX for 2015), but maybe it was just a revision. :iono:

False.

Subaru spent 5.9% (as a % of MSRP) while the industry spend 13% on average. In fact, Subaru spent the least out of mainstream brands. Toyota spent 10.7% and Honda spent 8.2%.

Subaru ATP was 22k average, while the industry was 31k. They also don't have any vehicles larger than midsize to drive up the ATP...which is even more amazing that spending is so low because nobody wants smaller cars these days.

Subaru's flat performance despite the madness of everyone else is :impressive: No way around that. Regardless of MSRP correction or whatever you want to blame, people are driven by :dill: s lately. There's something to be said for inflating MSRP and discounting down to drive sales it seems but Subaru doesn't have to do that.
