Due to the always nagging I was browsing the dealer's website where I bought my STi and found my old for sale. Wonder what went wrong on it already.

Kicking myself for not having kept the GTI, but fuck it, I'll enjoy the STi while I have it and however much we have saved 2.5 years from now is how much I'll spend on whatever's next.

Suby's had thin paint back with my 2004, doesn't surprise me it's similar now.coogles wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 10:25 am Found two new rock chips while washing the car yesterday. It's always such inducing moment. I think it's just a bug, then a few quick scrubs of the mit later it's not coming off, then , it's another rock chip. At least it's on top of the bumper under the headlight so it'll be easy to fill.
I have more rock chips on this car in 5k miles than I had after 50k+ in the GTI, though. Paint quality is absolute .
Swapping to my winter setup this afternoon, should look 5/7.
this is not at all surprising. What IS surprising is that paint chips and minor scratches don't seem to affect resale value of these things in the leastApex wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 10:27 amSuby's had thin paint back with my 2004, doesn't surprise me it's similar now.coogles wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 10:25 am Found two new rock chips while washing the car yesterday. These were already gold, actually, some of the Limited models from the last gen got gold wheels from the factory.SAWCE wrote:How much did powder coating the winter wheels cost? Buddy is looking for some STI BBS wheels for his WRX as a winter set up like you did, and I want him to make them gold too.
I thought you bought them silver and then got them powder coated...coogles wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:08 pmThese were already gold, actually, some of the Limited models from the last gen got gold wheels from the factory.SAWCE wrote:How much did powder coating the winter wheels cost? Negative. I might check into painting them instead, tho. I've heard of wheels getting out of balance from powdercoat, plus I guess the baking process can actually screw with the metallurgy? Maybe ask a who does their wheel repair. When I busted a wheel on the they had a shop they regularly use, who welded and refinished the wheel for something less than $100.
