Because we see them for what they are...insanely useful/practical/versatile tools. :tits: are too focused on image.

I don't even have kids and I want a van for comfort and utility. I wish there were high roof models that could be used for a camper conversion. I saw a wheelchair converted Sienna on FBM the other day with a medium roof on it and was really tempted to look at it for a camper van conversion. Ultimately I had some weird guilt about taking away a rare vehicle that someone might actually really NEED, but I'm on the lookout for something like that. The wants are growing.

Most seem to be. I am not running out to get one, but if your goal is to move people/shit around, it is the most effective tool for that job.

I mean it’s like a Prius if sipping fuel is your goal then that’s the vehicle for you.

You can just pay more money to be in something less efficient if you don't want to drive a Prius. You can't put your toddler in the trunk.

Speaking of Floridians in minivans, the drivers in Orlando are wack-arnold. There isn't a moment to spare between a slow lane change and complete :rage: fits. I was piloting the Voyager through the mean freeways of Orlando with the utmost consideration of those who may be packing, yet I couldn't avoid discomforting at least three motherfuckers from their uber important travels. Why is everyone so hot-headed down there?

Michelle and I. I’d absolutely drive a minivan when we have kids. She’s firmly against it strictly because of how they look.

Kind of ? But a minivan is like 5/7 giving up and a CUV is 4/7. It is a bit different.

By this logic, my Cammie is only giving up 3/7! I like it.

It isn't if it means you also have room in the budget for something like, oh, a GR86.

Right. Having a sports car negates the entire thing. GR86 is the opposite of giving up.

:iono: Sure something like an X5M is not giving up the way a minivan is but I fail to see how a Rage4, Escape, Equinox, or CRV is any better than a :minivan:

Both are 5/7 giving up, may as well get the one that is better at its job.

They’re more compact. If you only need 2 rows they will work just fine. That’s about it tho, the van has them beat everywhere else.

Van has sliding doors of doom. And 0 driving dynamics. It’s also quite heavy/heavier than an CUV. Say something like a rav4 prime actually has some balls… or something like an SQ5. Unless you have a soccer team

First road trip in the GR86 is complete - my wife and I took a trip to Traverse City over the weekend. It was a long drive for a weekend and probably not one we'll do again unless it's for a longer period of time, but we were glad to be able to do it. Solid food, good wine, beautiful scenery, I can see why our guy Detroit loves it up there.

:whocares: but the 86 did fine. The ride was a little tiring, there was more road noise than would be ideal, but it was fine. The GTI would have been a superior tool for this kind of thing, no question.
