The sales breh that "sold" or leased my dads cucktrek is pretty cool, there none of the markup :bullshit: so. Ill stop by and see what may happenD Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 9:18 amIt's funny, I've never seen another 10AE anywhere. I did call about every that had one coming before getting mine, IIRC Chantilly Toyota wanted a nice markup and I out.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:26 pm
You sure this wasn't you weaving out in traffic and cut me off
A lot of the VA outside of Metro DC were actually pretty cool and didn't do markups, but they always gave locals first right of refusal so I was never able to get my hands on one.

In other 86 news, I installed the clutch spring on Saturday. I would say not worth the $40 and hour of extreme sweat and frustration. It feels the same but just a tad heavier

The clutch is a little bit weird/hard to be smooth with. Shifter is great. This spring is like the magic fix to make the clutch perfect according to the internet. Quite overhyped IMO. Basically, the car has an assistance spring stock to make the clutch light, this is just a lower rate spring for that so it increases weight and allegedly feel of the clutch, but to me, it's the same, just a hair heavier (still pretty light).
maybe over some more driving I'll get used to it and see it as an improvement.

Interesting. Yoda forums swear by the removal of the CDV (clutch delay valve ). And I think it’s prob a load of horse shit also … it’s super involved and voids the warranty in case anything happens as a cherry on topD Griff wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:45 amThe clutch is a little bit weird/hard to be smooth with. Yeah certainly no warranty issues here as it's super basic and the would never be able to tell the difference anyway (plus I don't see how it could negatively impact anything). It was a simple install, just a PITA as you have to contort your body into the footwell.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:54 amInteresting. I think dumping the clutch delay valve made a noticeable change in the R. Not necessarily in feel, but consistency. Apparently the G80 has one too but my question is what do they actually do? Have they always been around in modern manuals?max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:54 amInteresting. Yoda forums swear by the removal of the CDV (clutch delay valve ). The main use is to prevent a noob/ from shattering the clutch plate by using the clutch pedal as an on off switch

When I was looking to go for a 5.0h when s550 chassis was new, clutch spring removal was a popular mod
