yes, nothing with a CVT. NOTHING.
All Corollas have CVTS
:mindblown: Holy shit today I learned.

I hope they did it right. also CVT's are hard on fluid, it might need increased maintenance.

So cancel the Corolla and all small Honda products.

The Corolla has been CVT since 2014, and the Prius has been for two decades. They should be fine enough.

The cvt in the Prius never needs changing … know of a few on original cvt juice with 200k+ miles. Pretty sure Toyota figured these things out. People buy them for reliability and longevity first and price second.

In new cars I would get a Corolla over a Mazda3 unless the price difference was huge, and the hybrid premium/wait is most likely worth it if you can handle the extra initial time/money cost.

That's obviously what I do for myself but:

1. I avoid a lot of expensive repairs by being an OCD fluid changer and generally staying out if front of things.
2. I can fix a lot of minor issues myself.
3. I have a couple of guys who won't reem me on big stuff.
4. If I gotta pay, I can pay. I got a great car cheap on the front end, I accept the costs later on.

None of these things can be said about the Stallion pilot. She has the maintenance habits of an Al Queda courier in Islamabad.

Added bonus for the 2023 lineup is that ALL Rollas come with the barnstorming 169 hp 2.bro, versus 2022 and earlier base/LE models came with 139 hp.

I remember when the :doge: Neon came out and had that 2.4 DOHC with like 130 HP and that was :mindblown: at the time when other cars in that class all sported 90-110 ponies.

Ah. Yeah then any Toyota, preferably hybrid since they have a longer standard warranty for the majority of the driveline.

Hybrid CVTs aren't the same as regular CVTs, but to your point they are all reliable AF

For the Toyota hybrids:
It’s not really a CVT in the sense that it has a belt or chain or whatever. It’s a planetary gearset with two electrical motors that almost infinitely vary gear ratios. It’s a single speed that has variable resistance to alter the output ratios.

can't quote Johnny due to server error but I'm clearly behind on cutting edge :derp: car tech from being obsessed with 30 year old sports car platforms, new sports cars, and joining the breeder class.

Yeah the Toyota power transmission is actually really cool, you'll appreciate the :science: I think. They say to change to fluid out early to get rid of a lot of metal dust from wear, and then :aintcare: till whenever. No clutches mean no clutch slippage issues after a late life trans fluid change. I frigging love my hybrid and how the trans manages two power trains.

Agreed, but most people have given up before they even started, which is what most Toyotas are all about.

With the exception of perhaps a GR Corolla which no one can buy in their right mind and a GR86, combined which constitute just about .01% of their annual sales volume. Every toyota sold is a boring pile of shit. Yes they are reliable, and require for the most part little maintenance to reach 200k... but they are just :disgust: Come at me... :yikes:
