I mean … 3k for a head gasket seems way better of a spend than blowing your brains out at the worst time of year to buy a car.

The auto bubble is about to burst …

Black Stallion traded in for $500. Paralegal now pilots the Grey Falcon. Loan @ 6.5%, $195/month, which she is happy with. Fuck it, it's a sharp little car, pretty amazing condition overall.

That’s the payment most shoppers should target.

The catch is that the mechanic can't confirm whether or not the head/block is warped or cracked, etc. They tried to find a scrapped Cruze to pull the engine from, but didn't have luck finding one with low mileage. He told my guy that he should dump it. It turns out that he's going to look at a 2016 Sonata for $11k, but I don't have additional details at this time. He's going to look at it with his dad or something.

Posted a link for ya. Apparently crank shaft is poorly made and sends metal shards all over the engine … wearing out bearings etc.

Nah, that's just our portal. 2011-19 Sonatas world-wide apparently.

Interesting. Thanks for that. We haven't gotten any correspondence from H, so maybe we got that reflash the article referenced, or the car got it before we bought it? :iono:

I wouldn't worry about it Ron. It's like with the VW's. You will have the only 400,000 mile Sonata engine ever built.

Sounds like he’s been in there for a while.. she not giving him a timeline to get sober and back into the workforce?

Man, I’m sad to say it, but I think I’d steer clear of the slanty H brand… so many issues.

Glad she’s happy about the Falcon!

There's only so much inquiry you can make before you're over the line.

Fair. And more than fair of you to do so much for her while respecting that line. You’re a good dood.
