Man. I’d be so happy to drive a boring af i4 tho.
The i4 is wonderful to drive. I prefer it to the IX. But :wrong: :tits: packrat shit... it is undeniably small in the back seat for american kid shit. The IX is enormous out back.
Being a linebacker that shit matters. The CRV has barely enough room that I can sit comfortably in front of little man and only get mildly annoyed by kicking. In sedan world, an A6 / 5 series would be ideal size. So an i4 would feel small to me.

Believe it or not … the shape of the dash kind of sucks for the front passenger aka my tiny 5’ sig other.

I have to move the front seat 2/3 of the way forward in order to use the rear facing seat. It works… for her but she is bitching that she’s “close to the dash”. I wouldn’t fit there without touching the dash. Eh it is what it is … we shall see what happens in the coming days

Another perfect candidate for the "GT" model BMWs from the mid 2010's

I get it. It makes sense for your primary family vehicle to be bigger. Going back to an IX after the unplugging tweeter lemon fiasco of 2023 is peak comedy though.

It is... Honestly if it was a "real" issue I would stay the F away. To be fair I had 0 issues with it since... 0 issues with the "loaner" I had and 0 issues with the I4. So I have 3 solid data points... I also had 2 teslas... which had WAY more issues than the bmws... and they were not only tied to the abysmal intial quality, so I can't/don't want to jump ship to something like that just yet... especially with the model Y refresh around the corner.

Yeah, you couldn't pay me to own a Tesla. I trust all other OEMs over them, even lowly Stellantis.

Lemon life update …
I actually hope this deal doesn’t go through as I really like the I4 for what it is … and I prefer driving it to the IX. It won’t go through if we’re not made “whole” on the 41k outstanding balance on the I4.

The woman is actually driving the latest :dill:
Waiting on final trade in # for the I4. I’m staying out of it as it will be under her name.

The IX will be similar equipment with the :disgust: wheels y’all “love” but in a real color that I love. Called “storm bay” and black interior unlike black ext on mocha interior last time.

My friend's brother just grabbed a 760 today in the same color. I like it.

So bmw made a couple of small updates:
1. The wheels are all black now, they don’t have a silver lip like those in my last IX. So they look better.
2. It shipped with I drive 8.5
3. The built in headrests are different (they sucked for shorter people and azn got a pillow for the head on the last one ) not necessary here

4. The tires are different even though the wheels are the same. These are 10% less efficient :wtf:

Does Tire rack list the rolling resistance of what came on the new one?

A couple grades difference can account for 20% loss of range.

This thread is an 87 page roller coaster.

Congrats! I like the new color a lot more than just black. I passed one on the highway today, driven by a young asian mom ironically. The looks are growing on me. It seemed tiny passing it in the NOT-A- :truk:

I like there are funky options on new BMWs. You can get the weird i8 style blue trim. You can get weird 2-tone wool blends that are asymmetrical on the seats with bronze trim everywhere.

:notsure: yet I’m not fully sold on an m car vs my truk. I drove it yesterday and it’s a lot of fun in its own way.
