No, but fuck paying above msrp for used pieces of shit for sure.
:dat:

I'm still in the game but this is all making me more indecisive than ever.

Right now I'm mulling over just driving the BMW for another year and seeing what happens with cars/life, buying the BRZ I have on order, purchasing another Corvette (C6/7), keeping BMW and getting an NC Miata or something else fun/not expensive... maybe even trying to get a GR Corolla or Hype R next year if the economy really shits to the point that they're available for mere mortals. At that point though I'll probably get shit canned and no longer be mere mortal status.
I'm going to be honest, you have enjoyed Corvette ownership more than any person I have even seen, ever. You should just get another one. If you leave the carseat back and strap it down you can put CF in the hatch.

I think a NC Miata would be much better than a BRZ if you don't mind having two cars. Header/tune for the later cars puts you at 200+ HP and 8000rpm, open roof, $15,000 etc etc

I would rather not have two cars... but it's not 100% out. If I get the BRZ it will be the only car at least for a while.

I am certainly back on the Corvette train to a degree though. I guess after mulling over $35K or so OTD for a BRZ, well, that gets you close to a pretty dece Corvette.

Oh man, I mean I love the BRZ. I think you would actually really enjoy it.

I think the cost comperes to the beemer are still not super fair...as you can still lock in the 16-17k... if 12 is the absolute no no. Also I am fully anticipating corvettes to really drop off also. They have been hyper-inflated for a bit. And GM is pumping out 30k a year.

Yeah the Corvette is more of a 'maybe down the line' thing for me. Like, I want a C6 GS or Z06 for $30K or a C7Z51 for $35-40K. IMO, that is what they should/will be in normal times. I still think TODAY a new BRZ is a better car than a $32K Corvette overall.

:iono: I really like the BRZ too, I was so sure and I feel like recent :bs: with siliconegate has clouded my judgement. I should probably just :doit: It's far from off the table, I still have my $1K down and my order in.

but TBH, I disagree with this. If it were your car, I am sure you would be :triggered: by silicone gate, and you would admonish the "WASTE OF TIME" that going and dealing with the dealer/not having your car to drive even if it were covered under warranty...

It’s a shitty thing to have no doubt. But if I was that worried I’d pay someone $300 to reseal the pan and call it day. This isn’t that big of a deal frankly.

Having defective engine parts is though… for example there are reports of shitty valve seals grenading Tacoma engines. Happens at random and at 5k or 65k miles and that engine costs 30k … yea :fullretard: same price as a gt3 motor… for whatever reason. So it totals the truck if it fail. The silicone gate is a minor inconvenience at best.

I’m also more bothered by Subaru headgaskets that need “service” every 75k miles

Yea… there are weird failures with the taco motor… and for some reason Toyota decided the screw with the parts costs and a new crate motor is nearly 30k. Even though you can buy a base truck with that engine for 30k. :wtf:

To be fair I think a gt3 engine is prob more but it’s just ridiculous

I know a dude who blew his 997.1 911 motor which was 30k in crate. He found one in Cali for less, and shipped it to some shop in Chicago to rework, then Canada for the install. It came to under 30k but kind of a one in million scenario. 30k for some high volume truck engine is :impressive: high.

Indeed, you could probably :ellisjuan: swap the 🌮 for significantly less. That is insane.

That clip is terrible. I would get an exhaust :doe: why not? I was actually behind one yesterday with some sort of ghetto-ish looking exhaust system and it sounded quite nice.
