I will still argue that it makes sense given that’s my primary use for a car BUT Torklift is going to refund me fully, I’ve decided to just get the Slambert hitch and I won’t be able to take a friend Hopefully Curt or Drawtite or someone eventually make a normal hitch.
The red car guy is kind of my hero though. I’d do that if the Slambert wasn’t an option, but I think it’ll be easier loading on the back than the top every time.
I still love the car and the reality is once is a thing justifying a purchase like this in the future would be hard, keeping it won’t be as much, seems to be fine with adding a daily beater if it’s needed.
Personally, having a more practical car that is 80% of the experience of the dedicated sports car is far more enjoyable for me than having the daily beater and the scarcely used sports car. I'd go back to being able to drive my GTI every day in a heartbeat, versus being stuck in the minivan with only the occasional pointless romp out in the 86.
I'd disagree, but people have different priorities and that's ok.
I will say that having a daily that doesn't suck again is awesome.
You can also have both: cheaper more 'beater' sports car and fun DD for kid d00ty. But that said G-dogg owns the 86 outright no reason to sell. Either deal with the first ~2 years pain of doing baby stuff in the 86 in the rare instance you need to, or slum it like a normie and get a car note and a 3rd car.
Personally id keep the 86 and get a nice used corolla/gti/ etc. Dark horse here is luxo truck with cover for house shit and babay shit hauling, because the heep wont do that well with the dog too.

Not if you're me. 3 kids and a wife who would rather get a divorce than drive a minivan means I'm stuck with it. At least she's cool with the 86.

And yet, here your are. A couple of dudes mired in the reality of crotchfruit matriculation.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.
they pulled the hitch and i assume the light controler, oh well should have pulled and tried to sell.
They sure do want a lot of nopes

Fair enough, but what was that thing new... 25-27k? Actual transaction price not inflated MSRP. I can get a corolla hybrid for 24k
Base was like 33? the premier loded out like i got was like 38? IIRC they were notorious for not dealing on them because they got the 7500 dollar tax credit too. So i could see 30k OTD on one of these new.
And your right, that is nuts its still asking 21k 6 years later.

Didn't Chris get his for like 23.5? or something like that... but yea, the 7500 was the starting point but I seem to recall pretty epic deals on all since they were priced quite high compared other econo-fuel misers.
Either way curious who will end up buying that.. pretty wild.

82k for a golf R makes sense if a civic R is 65k with markup I suppose... wonder if the golf will be marked up
14 hp and yellow paint and an AK exhaust for $40K? Wow no.
thats a bingo
