Sure, a cheap Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade is on the list. I really just need something that can tow the boat.

This makes me wish I bought the Buick Rainier V8 I looked at for my dad a couple weeks ago. V8 BOF cush mobile.
An Envoy XUV would be :neat:

Thanks! I'll be looking over the next few months, just waiting for the market to die down. The debate will be leasing a new CT or buying an old thing rust free from south/west

What's a V8 CT lease for?

No idea, depends on the truck and deals at the time. I think I'd prefer to just own a rust free GMT800 or similar.

It might be worth going for the CT to save 3-4k on a used truck while waiting for people to forget what they have

Well, I'm willing to travel anywhere in the country for it and I don't care what it is as long as it can tow 6-7k lbs. Max always manages to find great looking trucks out west, so I feel like this could be doable. Again, no rush and I know the market is jacked right now, so we'll see what shakes out.

Sorta but they sold like 300-500k a year of these things. It honestly isn't that hard...

It is hard to find one that has under 150k miles and an owner that actually gave a damn. People really drove these things like Land Cruisers, its just really hard to find one that isn't all used up.

That said @Chris can you give me a price point/miles/truk vs non truk ?
I know 4x4 is a must...
No rust is a must
As mod free as possible
Rebuilt tranny is a plus (they all seem to fail)
Sub 10k I already got... but any other absolute NO NOs ?

I don't even care that much about mileage if it's clean and clearly been well maintained. Sub 200k would be nice. Sub $10k, I don't care what vehicle it is. But, I really want something on the smaller side. Tahoe before Suburban, extended cab over crew cab, etc. I don't even necessarily care about the brand. I don't like Fords, but could get over it for the right truck. I'd even consider a Toyota if it was worth it (an older Tundra, Seqouia, Landcrusier?). If it tows 6-7k lbs and has a history of reliability, I'll consider it.

Not looking to buy immediately, just keeping a pulse on the market. If the right :unicorn: :dill: came up, I'd make it happen, but that seems extremely unlikely right now.

And if nothing comes up, and new leases are still stupid, I may just rent a truck to tow the boat when needed like we discussed in a different thread. Unlike the CTrek, this is not an urgent purchase by any means.

That's a nice denali....once again in pewter metallic :jimp: Problem with Denalis is 6.0 sucks gas for no real point, AWD means no 4LO which is sometimes VERY HELPFUL on a slick boat ramp. Nice truck though, would buy for $7500 all day long.

6.0 Means 4LO is for pussies or cucks who didn't spring for the real engine.

Also gas sucking on a GMT800 is part of the entry fee. None of these thing will average above 15

Nah 4L0 lets you crawl out of quicksand but I appreciate your :dedong: combativeness. The 5.3 in 2WD at 65 or less gets you high teens/20. The 6.0 in perma AWD means 10-15 all day err day.

That's not real life for most... What do you average in your rig? When I had my 4.7 powered 5 speed JGC I was getting 15.5 all day everyday.
A +800 lb -1 speed and +.6L powered ancient rig should be at that at best...

But yea the 6. :dedong: will get worse mpg no doubt.

I live an hour from the nearest freeway on ramp :mindblown: All of my driving is on 55mph 2 lane roads, unless we go on a trip.

That said, I really would like 4Lo...I use it more than most for various things. I don't need a big dick engine, just something with adequate torque for towing.

I love this. Transmission seems to be the weak point, and IIRC Melon mentioned there were some front suspension things with Dakotas (which I imagine translates to the Durango).

I really don't want a truck with 3.21's unless the engine is huge.

I love the 5.9 Durangos, but for 2003 the 4.7 got a 5spd auto which might be worth having over the extra 15hp and 30tq.

For towing I don't blame you, but the L33 5.3 had more than enough power with that gear for everything else.

The only reason I'm looking for a vehicle like this is to tow the boat. And even then that's proving to be a 2x/year thing, so I might very likely just rent/borrow a vehicle for that and get another cuck mobile when we need a 2nd car.

Or go anti-cuck and pick up a new BRZ :megusta: Curious what the new WRX will look like too.

4.7 w/5speed. I'm into it.

BUUUUTTTTTTT. I also kind of support just renting a truck whenever you need it, and buy something you'll prefer driving the other 360 days a year
