Rental this week is a Camero SS with the Schwinn transmission. It’s fast. Interior is a mixed bag. Visibility is laughably horrible.

Not bad.
Dual mode exhaust?

FJ's are just expensive, less practical, clown looking versions of 4Runners. HARD PASS

Actually, they're kind of cool. Back seat is practically worthless though. I could never justify one.

How I feel about most fun cars that keep their value, i.e. S2000, Wrongler etc.

They weigh less, back seat for someone like me would work in a crunch, it's not that bad. The trunk space is quite :impressive:

4 Runners are worth their weight in gold for some reason, so they don't necessarily provide any cost savings over an FJ.

Just buy a new 4Runner, drive it for a few years until you get bored, sell it for almost the same. That's what I did

New 4 Runners are 50k  that's 5k flushed down in taxes alone. I don't want to park that type of money in a vehicle.

Just view it as a larger valued depreciating asset. You put more in to start, but lose less on the back end. It's really just all bout that difference. If I didn't dump a ton of money into the S2000, it would have been a great :dill:

I got a slant H... I think Elantra. Seems fine but I’m unimpressed. I’d rather a Shitvic.

FJ versus 4R isn’t an FJ a decent bit smaller outside? That is definitely an advantage.

Also far more unique, 4R is a dime a dozen mom car.

FJ has an enormous amount of room for the front passengers at least. Back seat space is ok when you move the front up a bit. This isn’t some small car by any means.

Ehhhhhhh, there are a few versions of the 4R that are quite burly, particularly the TRDBro, and an extremely robust aftermarket puts this thing head and shoulders above Brahhoe, Yukon and other crotchfruit transporters. Our Denver member's is a prime example of that
