Apparently one dealership near me has two BRZs on the lot. Both grey, and two more coming... not sure if GR86 is attainable at this moment. :iono: ? I like the Toyota version better personally.
I do too. If I went out and bought a grey BRZ I would just forever wish it was a red GR86. I have compromised on spectoo many times, it's worth waiting for the right thing.

I just hope the 328i isn't worth $10K in a year, but it is what it is, that would just be normal.
If the 328i is worth 10k less than now then whatever you want will be worth at least 10k less as well.

Yep, it'll depend a lot on the replacement. There isn't $10k of room in a new GR86.

Used car values about to tank. Make the moves now or forever hold your peace.

Right but presumably the GR86 will depreciate as well. I mean this is a rising tide raises all ships situation or lowers. Slightly used GR86 it’ll be.

I speak of a larger delta between new and used, I'll be surprised if used GR86s hit the market next year. There just aren't many built, not like it's a Camry or something.

Well the whole point was that his 328i is unlikely to lose 50% in value unless something happens elsewhere in the market as well. New cars have way further to fall than a 7 year old bmw

:notsure:

Back in normal times, a 7 year old BMW was pretty worthless and $22k would be :fullretard: for such a car. If we get closer to historic norms, it's not unreasonable to assume a 50% drop in value from now. Used cars are crazy over valued right now. This hasn't really happened before, so hard to say how prices are going to adjust.

The idea can be :meatspin: in a number of ways, but if we are talking about replacing the bimmer with something more desirable it will likely be a new GR86 since there won't be a used market for two or three years thanks to low volume this year. The best cash benefit Dan will see on a GR86 is one he moves on on the next few months (sell cuckleU and order new hotness).

Flip side, to that coin is that the bimmer will likely stay high which is what you're illustrating. Amirite?

I'm gonna HODL on Tacocoin.

If I were Griff, I'd plan on riding the Fakesport into the grave; it's a perfectly reliable low mileage dual purpose car that he enjoys and he's comfortable in. It's a known quantity.

Plus, he's in the middle of family planning so being :wasteful: for selfish reasons isn't a terribly wise idea in the middle of a wildly unpredictable time period.
On the flip, if :baby: is on the way, this is pretty much the last shot at selfish spending for decades.

But I agree in total. The Fakesport makes the most sense for the situation all around. Flexible to handle highway drives for work, and a kid seat in the back as required. Can't say that about a 2 door sports coupe.

Dan does these things differently, to his credit. But yeah that GR86 thing is like the anti-crotchfruit vehicle

This only applies if he's paying cash. He probably is, but most wouldn't, and if we're talking taking on a new car payment that won't be eliminated before the baby comes around, that's not the best idea. The :baby: life requires minimizing financial obligations prior to those little money-suckers coming around.

Right, this was my assumption as well. Minimal debt and lots of cash would be the ideal way.

I would likely want some sort of practical car as well, so if used Prii also get cheap, I can deal. Or I'll just keep the BMW and add the GR86 a bit later down the road, but :notsure: I really want a 10 year old BMW.

:dat:

It would need to be a second car most likely, but I think I could pull off a GR86 and a $10K sedan/hatch of some sort, $40K or so all in is considered within the realm of being reasonable from a :tits: perspective.

For what, having kids?

Still gotta pay for:
- Clothes
- Food
- Gear
- Daycare

And that's just getting started.

I decided to not have kids for many reasons, but money was one of the top ones. :scrooge:
Same. Massive money spend that I'd rather spend on myself.

Not true, prior to COVID the child tax credit didn't begin to phase out until a couple filing jointly exceeded $400,000 in AGI. But for 2022 it's back down to a whole $2,000. That'll essentially cover one month of daycare and diapers.

They are a bit more than just rewrapped prii . They have en entirely different suspension out back with irs. And they have nicer interiors and a bit more power…
But they have less space inside than a Prius 😂

Whatev man, basically the same shit in a different package. The Prius is definitely better laid out, my buddy owns the CT and it's pretty SMOL inside, especially back seat and trunk.
