So the one time I was out after dark, it was pretty damn brutal. 30" of screens in my car + HUD ... + porno lighting in every crevice of the vehicle.. it's tough... especially once a raised F250 gets pointed straight in your face.

Poverty spec Fraud super duty trucks are the worst. Four fucking laptop sized halogen lights blasting. Tons of people down here with not a care in the world about using their high beams around other cars too but thankfully they're always shitty anyways.

So looking at the white line that’s what I always did. But what’s standing out to me is how none of that is necessary in a CUV. Then you go back to a low car and suddenly you’re assaulted and it’s legit hard to deal with since so many headlights are so damn bright anymore.Tar wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 7:48 pm I'm generally used to the eyeball assaults froms and :CuckUV:s, my commute always ends with a short jaunt through two lane country roads to my subdivision. I just look down at the white line on the right side of the road and follow along anytime an oncoming vehicle approaches. It's a bitch when I do get it in the eyes and I'm night blinded for a couple of seconds, but my technique generally alleviates that trauma.
For me the lower ride and better FE is worth the trouble. I'm pretty easy to please![]()

I generally agree. However the worst one I experienced recently was a fucking mini cooper. I think their lights were aimed shitty but they also had a purple hue and were just blinding. These were the stock LED lights.
Also Hondas have a lot of glare.

I might actually install an auto dimming rear view mirror. I’d like to replace the mirror anyway with a frameless one. The stock one is some Ali Express looking cheap bullshit with an enormous plastic bezel.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 1:27 pm Im thinking of adding a tint to my rearview mirror cause it appears to be like everyone driving with high beams on and it is mad annoying.

The cucktrek that we have, has the factory installed tint in the rearview and I believe thats a 200-300 dollar option sinceJohnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:58 amI might actually install an auto dimming rear view mirror. An E36 interior if it was in factory new condition is pretty much the best.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:00 amRemember the good days of orange backlit BMW interiors? For sure man, it's a luxury I haven't really got used to much.. plus some people are definitely more sensitive to light changes. My wife has a hard time driving at night for that reason and others, so the tolerance to these new brighter lights are a case by case scenario.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:55 am

I'm shocked how many people just drive around with high beams on all the time, totally oblivious. That's 90% of the problem. The other 10% are people using aftermarket bulbs that don't work with the car, misaligned headlights due to lifting or lowering the vehicle, etc.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:21 pmI thought it was me getting old but I’ve asked a ton of people of all ages and it’s really just the technology ‘advances’ in vehicles.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:58 pm I was just thinking about that the other day. New vehicles with properly setup headlights aren't bad. You should be above the cut off almost all the time.

It's either high beams all the time or just drl's at night. People are too stupid to turn headlights on.

Yep. I hate the govt more than anyone, but I'm almost at the point for advocating mandatory auto on headlights and auto high beams.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 11:39 amMrH42 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 11:36 am

I will play slight devil's advocate/apologist here - I somewhat blame auto manufacturers. Back in 2005 or earlier, you got in a car in the dark, you immediately knew whether the lights were on. Interior was dark, no exterior lights, nada - cool, turn them on. Now, especially in a city, it's tricky to tell. The interior lights up in your face like a casino, blinding the fuck out of you, regardless of headlight toggle. Streets are filled with ambient light and the car typically has some DRLs going, so it's not always easy to know. I will admit to being in rentals and driving for quite a while at night with the lights off because they're typically on auto and I couldn't tell at all.wap wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:38 pmMrH42 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 11:36 am

expression from them.

Not knowing if your lights are on should be a license revoking offenseD Griff wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 3:21 pmI will play slight devil's advocate/apologist here - I somewhat blame auto manufacturers. I mean, if there is really no difference that's perceivable from the driver's seat, it's an easy mistake to make. All of the vehicle screen/lighting trends just make zero sense to me though.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 3:59 pmNot knowing if your lights are on should be a license revoking offenseD Griff wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 3:21 pm

2 months with the red rocket already. I do really like this car. If it got totaled I’d replace it with a CUV but as far as cars go this is pretty damn solid. I love how enormous the car is. And it still gets awesome mileage. Still averaging around 55 mpg.
I think I’ll order the seat jackers. Still waiting on a sale for the overpriced floor mats. And a sale on roof racks but that should happen around Black Friday.
One thing I am missing are fog lights. This gen doesn’t get them on any trim.
